I also love watching, but since the one mother eagle got killed by that plane and I watched the dad go back to the nest to wait for her, I couldn't stand it. The babies were gone and he was looking around the nest, I cried like a baby!!! I still get upset thinking about him looking in that nest.

Oh my. I didn't know about that one. That would upset me to no end, too.

One of the Decorah eagles was electrocuted last year. It's like losing one your own pets because you get so attached to their every day lives.

Yes, it was awful!!! My girlfriend called me and left a message on my machine and she was sobbing. I called her back and she told me that the mother got killed by a plane. She was going into the water to catch a fish for her babies. The poor babies were in that nest and dad did go back to them. The people at the wild life center thought that the father couldn't feed them all on his own, so they decided to take the babies down and keep them at the center until it was time for them to be released.

When the father went back with the fish to feed them, the nest was empty. It was so sad and the camera was fixated on him. He left after 15 minutes or so and he left the fish in the empty nest.

Watching the babies get released was also a tearjerker for me!!!
