Kachina it's a good sign that she's protecting her food. I was online checking the chickens (lol), Berry, Fort St Vrain, MN Bound and Decorah and saw B3 take off. I became very emotional and weepy

Hi jackthebear, you can be sure that egg is being watched, dad is probably watching from a branch just out of cam site while mom gets a stretch!

Did you see when it snowed and mom was covered, it was a few seasons ago, she looked so cold! They had it on video loop too when the cam was off. I am so happy they are available for us again, I have missed them.

Do you by chance follow the black bear project in Minnesota?

Pittsburgh has eagles for the second year along the Mongongaha River and there is an eagle cam this year. Last night a racoonn was almost eagle meat when he tried to grab one of the 3 eagle eggs. Mom was fierce!! News stations covered the excitement.

Mom looks so cold, its dark now, the nest is covered in snow and the wind is blowing pretty good up there. Brrrrr! Looks like the second egg was laid 2/26, egg D19. Seems the RRP are very worried as they have never seen eggs laid in sub zero temps before. Keep positive thoughts. Check out their fb page, there is a great 2 min. video from today where mom and dad make the switch and you can see the eggs really good.

www.facebook.com/pages/Decorah-Eagles/166402660081214

dubll2011 yikes that raccoon is brave lol.

D19 has arrived. D20 is still 'breaking out'.

What a testament to the parents. They managed to save their eggs during the worst weather (freezing rain, bitter cold) they've had to endure in years. People could learn a lot from these eagles (okay, I'll shut up now).
