I want a Kia!!!

I just love this commercial....I want to trade in my Santa Fe and will probably get an Outback...but I LOVE this commercial - now I want a green Soul...the hamsters remind me of my time at the gym!

I have not seen the commercial but I would not buy a Kia because 2 people that I know that had them did not do well with them. One of them is my bother. Apparently, to keep the 100,000 mile warranty you have to bring the Car back to the Kia dealer. In my brothers case and in my friends case, they both ended up in service with "problems" that were not covered under warranty. I could not understand why new Car's kept having problems. Both were treated the same way. Any Kia owners out there who had this experience or have not?

They are made by the same people that make Hyundais...the customer satisfaction rating is much higher than in the past.

I have had 2 Santa Fe's and have been very happy with them.

I hope to keep mine for a couple of more years before getting another one. Mine only has 54,000 miles on it.

I have a Chrysler, terrier....but yes, it gets me around and about!

I wouldn't purchase an auto just because of the advertisement/commercial. I do my best to purchase a car that is American made too.

Warranty work generally has to be done at the Dealer- with very few exceptions- what is unusual about that? Lots of "problems" are not covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty- especially wear and tear items...

Terrier I agree about the Hamsters- i love them too!It kind of reminds me of the Sta Puft Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters- You take the most uncool, wimpy childhood pet and make it totally cool! Just like Dan Akroyd thought of the "most harmless memory of childhood "and made it an icon of evil and terror!

I love that commercial too! I like the style but I know it is not for everyone.

At one time I owned a Honda Element, most of my friends didn't like it but I did, ha!

I'm not going by the rating system, two people I know have been in accidents with Kias and the cars were totalled.....

I did have to replace the first one due to some "mechanical problems" (see below), but it was great for the 4 years I had it. I replaced it with a Kia Forte and that also has been a great car.

Crs are made to "total" and "crumple" in certain ways to absorb the energy of an accident- The important thing is how well they protect their occupants- I don't have any stats on Kias vs other cars, but the # of deaths/serious injuries per 1,000 incidents, for example would be what I would consider-

i have totalled 2 Hondas over the last 30 years, and I don't feel that means they are not well made- I waked away from both accidents- neither which were my fault and one wa on the freeway at 60 mph....

One was seriously injured, the other was not. Both claim they will never buy another so that's good enough for me, lol.
