Just finished watching Shark Tank, couldn't believe Barb, says QVC is not the place for people to do business, especially when it comes to food. She sounded like she had some bad experiences in her dealings with food products....

I don't ever recall hearing her name mentioned with any foods and she wasn't saying which ones either.

The woman she snatched was someone from the South who made a pancake mix and claimed that QVC wanted her to come on board with them. Guess that won't happen now.

Wonder how the Q will react to her statements......

I often think Barbara Corcoran is really nasty and snide, mainly towards Lori, when the two are on together.

I have to agree, on the Lori part.

I just never saw her act that way, come right out and name a company like that.

Barbara didn't get where she is by being "nice." I respect women who make it in a man's world. She took a small amount of money and made record profits in real estate and real estate is a tough business to be in.

If Barbara claims QVC isn't a good place to do business, then I believe her. I personally know a vendor who used to sell on QVC and she had some very interesting stories to tell about the back story of sales on QVC...

i believe her in that a vendor becomes tied to qvc and in many instances, exclusive to qvc for a period of time.

Sorry Sylvia. It is a TV show where entrepreneurs try to convince millionaires/billionaires to invest in their company - or idea. Lori Grenier is one of the ""sharks"" in some episodes.

I like Barbara. Let's face it, Lori was made by QVC. She and her counterpart on HSN are clones. If Barbara finds QVC's business practices unreasonable or worse, she would of course feel some negativity toward their representative Lori. If I were starting a business, I think I'd think twice before going with QVC unless I envisioned them owning me. It seems, from what little I know/have observed/have read, when a product does well, QVC fights for ownership. If it doesn't do well enough, it is dropped abruptly. There seems to be no middle ground.

PB, it did sound like she said that if products were returned, it came out of the vendor's cut and so did the return charge. Vendor takes most of the risk and QVC takes most of the profit.

I've got a lot of respect for Barbara, so IMO whatever she says deserves consideration. She wouldn't just spout off negatively about a company w/out good reason.

So, no wonder why they automatically give you a credit (and you don't have to return the product) if you call and complain about a food item - It all comes out of the vendor's pocket.

ITA. And she actually is a nice lady, with a good sense of humor and great personal vibrancy.
