I was watching LR with the orYany bags last eve,. and she kept using the word "iconic" when describing them. I've heard other hosts use this word as well... alot! Can someone explain what it means as far as handbags go? Thanks in advance.

To me, an "iconic" handbag would be a vintage Chanel. In my opinion, nothing the Q sells could ever, or will ever be classified as iconic. It's just a selling tactic to make people buy.

I think it means the style has been successful over the years, and probably will remain that way for years to come, so you won't have to be buying a new bag with each fashion season.

I don't have a definition, but I have an example: Chanel 2.55 black quilted leather flap bag. I have coveted this bag as long as I can remember.

Have you looked into consignment or second hand shops? That's where I got mine several years ago.

That must be her new buzz word.

No handbag on QVC is "iconic".

When they start selling Chanel or Fendi, let me know.

All I can say is that if anyone ever stops me on the street and says "Oh my gosh, what an iconic *insert name of handbag, jewelry, kitchen appliance* you must have got that on QVC." I will drop dead of shock on the spot, so you'll never know about it.

ETA: And don't ask me why I would be walking down the street carrying my little Ninja chopper.

Vintage Chanel 2.55 or Classic Flap - black with gold only; LV Speedy (1934). Nothing on QVC is or ever will be iconic.
