Is anyone else out there NOT interested in watching the Olympics???

I may get bashed, but I'm not that interested in sports and it seems like every time I flip the channel, there is either a clip, discussion, or a program of the Olympics that has replaced what I wanted to see. Don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of our USA teams--I can't even imagine how much hard work the athletes put in for their whole lives to get to this point and I hope they win! But that doesn't mean I have to like watching it for two weeks. If I say anything, I feel like people think I'm horrible because I don't want to watch it!

For the first time...I am not watching at all. I always loved Ice Skating until it became very obvious the judges and scores were rigged. I no longer have any interest.

Don't feel bad about not wanting to watch. That's the way I feel about a lot of sports .... Superbowl for example. Sports are not for everyone. I enjoy some of it, but not all.

No one should bash anyone for not watching the Olympics. For me, it's not interesting at all, and I haven't and I am not planning on watching it at all.

It's not a political thing, I am just not interested in this sort of thing. Besides, I think it's the biggest waste of money going. Think about what could be done with the money spent on something that lasts two weeks....for the hosting country's people.

Ditto this. I know a gal whose husband provides some equipment for the various sports. It's rigged and very political. I like to watch some of the events as the athletes perform what they know and what they can. Whenever something is large like the Olympics - it's a sure thing they are rigged. Too much money at stake.

I'm not. Sure I'm proud of the Americans, but not being a sports fan, I rarely watch them. This year is no exception. Just not my thing.

that is how i feel about it. i have never watched the olympics. the only sport i love to watch is professional football.

I'm happy to see I am not the only one. I am not a sports fan either. But I do wish all of them the best. They have worked hard to get where they are.

I've never been into the Olympics. Maybe a small dose of the skating, but that's it.

It doesn't mean I'm not patriotic or proud of our athletes. It means I don't care much for sports nor do I buy the idea you have to support American sports to be a good American.

I don't care about the area, the people, the personal stories of the athletes and/or their families. I don't care about most of the events.

I did get to see Pleshenko (?) skate yesterday. That was worth my time.

We watched Gracie figure skate- incredible program... My husband will watch some but I'm not really interested.. I think it's the time change..

croemer, 100% agreed after what I've seen. Love the ice skating and IMO, you are so right after watching some of it in the last few days.

I haven't watched so far. I did run across the running of the torch and the lighting and fireworks, which I thought were spectacular. I am proud of all of the athletes, but haven't had much interest in watching throughout the years.
