I notice when other people use the same phrase over and over again -- and I notice -- I do the same thing! -- although maybe a different phrase or saying -- but I am sure other people are tired of ME saying THAT.

So What Phrase Do You Use Often & Are Trying NOT To Use So Often?

I am retired so I don't interact with many people....only my family and a few people around my apartment complex....none of them have repeated phrases...

The only two people that I ""know"" are LR and JRipka....

Yes, I have three words that I can think of off the top of my head that I say. I wish I didn't but I have said them forever and cannot seem to stop. I say "dude", "gnarly" and "totally" quite a bit. I have said it for as long as I can remember and I have tried to stop but it is just who I am. My husband even says it sometimes because he hears it so much.

D ... I was going to write that, but honestly, I would have annoyed MYSELF!!! Hate that word!!!! He's better, thanks. Fever is gone ... Little rat gets another day off though, they already cancelled schools.

And I say 'you know' a lot. I am an active listener -- I nod and say 'yeah'... When other people just sit there when I'm talking, I start asking 'you know?' to get a response.

My grandmother uses a few naughty phrases in Italian and sometimes I find myself using them. When I was a kid , I'd come home from visiting her using these sayings, and needless to say, my parents were not pleased. I didn't know what they meant - I just thought they sounded funny!

I use the word, "well" too often. I notice I start many sentences with that word. I have no idea why, just habit I guess.

Hi, dmod nj!

I say "Isn't it funny that_________." or "I think it's funny that_______." too much.

I've got to mix up my phrases more -- or no one will think I'M funny (or interesting)!
