W VA back to using bottled water...

They still don't know for sure if the water is safe, so the state went back to providing bottled water.

This is a mess...over 3 weeks - pregnant women are still being told not to drink the water.

this is very sad. and the water of other downstream communities is suspect of contamination. mother earth is crying.

At least four states have complained of water contamination from fracking. USA Today has the report.

Tell your elected representatives this is unacceptable. People complain about regulations but there is a need for clean air and water regulations to keep companies honest and keep people safe.

This is a mess. I'm so sorry. I went through something similar for about a couple of weeks. Big pain, and no fun. Makes you appreciate how valuable the resource is, and why it needs protection.

The question is WHO allowed these companies that produce toxins to be up river from city drinking storage?? That is who is to blame.

I can't imagine what a never ending nightmare this is for the WV people and now the company have filed for bankruptcy so the money for the cleanup won't come from them.

When mother earth moves and shifts rocks, shell and water and gas move around daily all over the world. It is a natural action of earth. No one can sue mother earth. So that does not count.

Just because some people heard the word fracking a few years ago now they say the fracking is causing harm to mother earth. What they want is money from companies.

When the facts are fracking has been going on for over 60 years. 60 years folks without any kind of problem.

No wonder companies do research and never tell the public about anything.

And while you are into "companies should be presecuted"......Might also add to the list all the people in all those States that use pest control and fertilizers on their lawns, flowers, veggie gardens, and trees....add water and all the different mixtures of pest control and fertilizers enter the ground and enters the water table below ground.

Look at all those people we can sue to clean up all the States. Is that a good idea?

Or do all you guys just want to sue companies of people that work? Most are working to produce items that all of you want and all of you buy.

I'm sorry to hear this. If I lived in the area, I would have not stopped drinking bottled water. I would not trust that the problem was "cleaned up" that quickly, and I would be cautious for a very long time.

First of all, this company was a storage firm...not many people involved in that business.

Secondly - this company was only formed last year...with a series of shell companies to hide who really owns the company. They now have filed for bankruptcy and transferred the company assets to ANOTHER shell company with the same man as president?

They are attempting to evade paying damages for not properly caring for storage containers. They didn't even report the leak to officials and tried to cover it up with a cinderblock.

They deserve to pay for their negligence.

Why the worship of "companies"????

I live in southern WV, and was not affected by the chemical spill, nor was any of my family or friends. Yes, the state is back to providing bottled water for the citizens who are still worried and concerned about the safety of their public water supply. As I understand from news stories and newspaper articles, the state has test results proving the safety of the water they are testing, and they are encouraging the residents to use the water based on those results. Many residents are back to using the water. However, officials are listening to the concerns for those residents who are still wary of using the water, and because they are listening, and they do understand the reasons for concern, they are making sure bottled water is available to those residents. It seems to be more of a supportive effort to the residents, and not a precautionary measure. The percentage of residents who are taking advantage of the bottled water seems to be small in relation to the number of residents who were affected by this chemical spill.

I saw people on national news last night. They opened their taps and STILL had the strong licorice chemical smell.
