Amazon Prime Deliveries...

I've been using Amazon Prime for many years. I really like overnight or fast deliveries.

The last few weeks my deliveries are being delayed 3 to 4 days. Amazon notifies me, but I'm not used to this, especially paying for Prime annually. This is also on Prime products as I watch out for that.

I live in a large city and large neighborhood, so it's not like I live out in the country.

Has anyone had this happen to them recently and know what's going on?

I've noticed it lately too - a lot of times the order is only delayed a day but still....

Prime 2 day delivery to other than urban areas close to whse is no longer the case. Amazon draws items from whses that have availablity and transfer to "your" assigned whse. From there it's two day delivery. If you live rural, Prime 2day delivery never existed.

I live in a very rural small town so we never had overnight deliveries. Most of ours are 2 or 3 days but it is still faster than most online deliveries and it is much better than any other company can provide us.

I have had my problems with Amazon delivery (awful ones, but just a few, thank goodness), but I still think it is one the miracles of modern life. I have received multitudes of successful deliveries, at least a couple every week since the online ordering service began. Shopping in Brick and Morrtar storers is physically difficult for me and I rarely go to one. Amazon sells just about everything I want or need.

@Sunshine Kate is there anyway you can use instacart in your area? I find them the best as they have grown over the years. Yes they started rather clunky like an old rusty car like most start ups, uber, etcetera. But now they are on it top speed IMO. Very happy.

My neck of the woods does not have this issue. There are no less than 3 Amazon Warehouses near me. Matter of fact a lot of seniors where I live work at Amazon.

I can't tell the number of times my deliveries have been late recently--and I live a few miles away from a few mega delivery hubs!! No reason has been given for any delays---I ordered an over night delivery yesterday for today------and it got taken to another apt in this very big apt complex I live in---do I depend on the good will of the person who lives there--to drop it off at my apt??? NOPE!!! Would I try to get a, not ordered package, to the rightful owner---YES!!! Or at least give it to the office---SHEESH!!!!

News flash!!!---- Hurray for the person that returned my AMZ package, yesterday, that got delivered to her apt and not mine!!

I never get those promised early morning deliveries in the early morning. I'm lucky if they show up by 6PM.

I think Amazon laid off too many employees.

Yes, it happens occasionally. I figure nothing is perfect but if I know I need something by a certain date I'll order early. Even so, it occasionally happens on items I have on subscription. Warehouses can run out of inventory sometimes so there's always the option to set up a second as a backup. Weather can also play a part in delays. Can't get mad at Amazon for that.

@Sunshine Kate - It happened to me last week. A toy was supposed to be delivered Thursday for a party on Saturday. Plenty of time. Delayed a day. OK. Then - delayed until Sunday. A day late - I'm not happy, but only a day late. It came Tuesday.

What else could it be except staff shortages?

Amazon Prime is a bargan, with or without overnight/two day delivery.

It's wonderful for those who don't drive, are elderly, disabled, or have small children.

I have never requested overnight or two day delivery, instead choose the delayed delivery to benefit the environment.

You may want to multiply the number of Amazon deliveries you've had in just a month by $3.50 and compare it to the cost of a Prime membership.

My first thought was to call Amazon. The last few times I've needed to call them for something different, it takes so much time to talk to a live agent -- if I can even get to talk to someone.

It's usually talking to a computer and it does no good.

what do you mean by " an open line " ?

I just finished up with CS over an ongoing issue that every CS rep said was resolved. The problem was caused by warehouse confusion twice over " 2 sets of mower blades." Each time they sent only one set despite the picture and the supporting description.

Sent a lengthy description to Field Quality Assurance so no other customer goes through the nonsense. The last rep j derstood the issue and she provided me the correct email address for resolving the logistics problem.

It is such a hot mess I quit orderind anything I can get at Walmart, Target, Costco etc. from them not Amazon.

I also group my Amazon buys into the one Amazon day, hoping I will get them when they are supposed to come. I see things for next day or two day delivery in the front page, then it jumps to delivery farther way when I go to pay for it.

I'm done with most of Amazon. We live near a wearhouse and still can't depend on delivery.

I live in SE PA. Every one to two months Amazon deliveries are late by several days. About ten days ago, three items, promised in two days, were delayed, and then delayed again. At the third delay, I cancelled the items and received a refund. A delivery in June had a similar delay history. I did not cancel that order, but the items were damaged when they arrived.

Last week my printer ran out of ink. I always order it from Amazon as our Staples closed and it said delivery expected in 4 days. It did come in 4 days by UPS.
