Don’t understand

No one wants to see QVC get out of bankruptcy more than me. I have been a faithful customer for many years. I hope the folks who read this don’t take it down, but I am concerned. If they are in such debt, how can afford to do shows like the one tonight at the Garden. It is beautiful, but I keep thinking. I don’t want them to go under, but how can they afford to do shows on location like Jane’s tonight? I’m not a business person, so perhaps QVC will come out of the bankruptcy just fine. Please know that I truly am just worried they may go under. It would be soooo sad if that happens. So I will leave it to the business folks. But I just thought they would be doing some belt tightening. Thx.

Every company that's in financial trouble says they won't lay off employees....until they do.

@rms1954 I think I know enough even though my business have been much smaller. The basics are the same.

DH has owned his CPA practice for 52 years and can explain anything else I need to know. He has clients that are huge companies, medical practices and individual tax clients. He's required to take hours of CE every year to keep his liscence.

Thank you for the info. Of course, it’s way over my head, but I realize the difference now. I am happy that all will proceed as usual. Looking forward to Christmas in July🎄

@susankate. I’m assuming Longwood Gardens welcomes companies to have remotes and corporate meetings there for the exposure it brings them. Same with the recent remote in Palm Springs. I’m sure there was an expense to QVC but so much of company expenditures are a tax write off.

I doubt they could or would lay anyone off due to this restructuring. Based on what's written there, it may be part of the deal.

I never understood how bankruptcy works. Personal or business. As much as I complain I would hate QVC to go away. I want QVC to improve. More selection of brands and items. It's Groundhog Day.

I could be wrong, but I think bankruptcy is different with companies than with individuals. Companies can just file and keep going but individuals file and they're broke and have to start over to some degree.

Or maybe they should have never stopped doing shows like this all along. I have been to Longwood Gardens and I enjoyed the show.

@chickenbutt There are two types if bankruptcy for individuals:

Types of Personal Bankruptcy

Chapter 7 (Liquidation Bankruptcy)
