Anyone paying attention to repaorts abt Lone Star Tick and spead of disease. Apparently, one illness spread by them produces allergy to any red meat & dairy, however you can eat the bioenginerred meat promoted by Bill Gates

The first that I ever noticed one of these tickets was near Atlantic City NJ abt 15 years ago .Thankfully, it was only crawing on my hat after walking under stone trees

" The lone star tick is an aggressive biter found primarily in the eastern and midwestern United States. It transmits a variety of pathogens and is most famous for causing Alpha-gal syndrome, a severe allergy to red meat. It also spreads bacterial illnesses like ehrlichiosis and STARI "

. " Alpha-Gal Syndrome (Red Meat Allergy)

This is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic condition.

The Mechanism: The tick's saliva injects a sugar molecule called alpha-gal into the body. If your immune system mounts a defense, it creates antibodies that trigger reactions later.

Symptoms: Hives, swelling, shortness of breath, stomach cramps, or severe anaphylaxis.

Triggers: Occurs 2 to 6 hours after eating red meat (beef, pork, lamb, venison) or dairy. Ticks are unusually bad this year in the Northeast and Midwest.

I live in SW Missouri, and we hike in NW Arkansas. Ticks and alpha-gal disease is prevalent here. I know a few people who have had it including my SIL and nephew. If we're going to be hiking or in tall grass of any kind, we spray our clothing, socks, backpacks, shoes...everything...with Sawyer permethrin spray. Bare skin gets sprayed with Off Deep Woods.

Yes, ticks are bad in the Midwest this year. I have had eight, seven started to attach . Dogs are lucky to have medications, internal and external. I think the ticks move off them on to humans. I have watched them crawl from my dog on to me! I try to stay out of tall grass but still get them. Even areas getting them that normally don't have a problem. Not contagious.

These are the regular ticks. The bad ones that 50% carry Lyme disease are the tiny ones , some as small as a pin head called bear or deer ticks. Watch for the Red bulls eye and get treatment asap. Lymes is like a flu and rumatoid arthritis that won't go away.

I had a dog test positive once. He was treated and always tested positive but no symptoms. Just in his system I guess.
