Any Trouble With Amazon Deliveries Where You Live?

Recently a large percentage of things I have ordered from Amazon are promised for that day, the next day or even days away then "delayed" at the last minute. And I can't cancel them either.

They have taken a page from the QVC playbook I guess! Anyway, it is making me order less at this point.

I just wonder if it is a local issue, or more widespread with Amazon. I don't so much mind the delay as I mind being told it is coming today or tomorrow or the day after when they have to know it isn't.

No problems for us. I wonder if it is because of Mothers Day? Not saying that is an excuse,just wondering?

Yes. SE PA here. Lately my subscription deliveries have been delayed. They give me an approximate new delivery date, then they usually come earlier than the new date. Very confusing. This happens to some one-time purchase as well. I also thought it was starting to look like a QVC situation.

I had an order placed months ago that I never recvd and I think people are stealing stuff, jmho of course. I had to call their c/s for a refund and then aftewards they kept sending me texts to return my item (after I got my refund) yet they knew I never recvd it. Made me mad and I didn't order from them for a long time and now only once awhile heavy stuff like the water I prefer.

SE Pennsylvania, no problems. Are you 100% sure what you ordered is being shipped by Amazon and not a secondary company?

@Sooner It's a mixed bag for me. When orders are delivered BY Amazon, some drivers deliver them as they should to my door and some leave them wherever it's convenient, often unsecured in my building lobby. Increasingly, Amazon and their vendors are using other delivery services, including USPS, which means increasingly items are being left in my lobby rather than at my door. I'm ordering less as a result. Unfortunately, even for Amazon deliveries, contacting them makes little lasting difference. They promise the moon, but unless each individual driver complies, they have little control. It seems it's become more of a c-rapshoot.

Now that I think about it, I have an order out for delivery today from Amazon Fresh, for which I always keep my fingers crossed. Their tracking is unreliable.

I was supposed to have something delivered today and now it's tomorrow. On the other hand I've had things arrive a day or two earlier than what they said.

I'm in Central Florida and yes I am getting "shipment delayed" emails on a pretty regular basis. Mainly a day ot two delay.

That said I ordered my grandson a birthday gift on April 10 for his birthday on May 9. I am still waiting! It was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago, then yesterday, then this morning "shipment delayed" message with tentative May 18 delivery!

I order about one thing a year on Amazon, preferring Ebay.

They seem to be having warehouse problems with workers and unionization.

A friend who orders constantly says that unless you have Prime, orders now take longer to be delivered.

I guess Bezos thinks he needs more money.

I think it depends on where you live and how many Amazon customers are in that area.

I live in a high population area ... Manhattan. I see trucks parked around here every day. I've never had an issue with deliveries.

Yes, in March I had an order show as 3 stops away from being delivered, then half hour later a text saying delayed by an hour and then a few minutes later a text saying it was cancelled, with no explanation. Then the two other items from that order arriving on different days were also cancelled with no explanation.

The next time I ordered everything was delivered on time.

My last order last week, four items were being delivered together, then got a few more texts saying order delayed until next day, then finally a text saying they had no idea where the order was, but two other items in the order were delivered a few days later. First time in all my years ordering from A I've ever had an issue.

Great service from Amazon! I am a big fan of Amazon Prime. Between Amazon and QVC, along with an occsional added source, I have not been in any brick and mortar store since the pandemic.
