Bankruptcy protection?

I read an article yesterday about QVC/HSN filing chapter 11. I wondered could this be true? I know I cant afford to buy anything online anymore. Even if I were still working, I'm not sure how much I would be buying. They have been around forever but some of the things I really liked are no longer carried anymore.anyway. Anyone heard any solid news?

Many articles have been published in newspapers. e/g/ Philadelphia Inquirer, The Street, etc. sddressing the precarious financial status. Over two billion in debt comes due in October and the company has postponed its quarterly financial report. Lots of factors comtribute to the problems; but managrment remains hopeful that they survive the financial storm.

What will probably happen is a financial restructuring, which will help them stay on track.

It's unlikely they would just shut down with warehouses full of merchandise.

It will also depend on what the parent company wants to do and how much leverage they have in this situation.

Not so sure about the "warehouses full". Many products are now coming direct from the manufacturer.

They did not file on Feb.26, but instead went into the legal grace period. So we should know in a few days.

Everything that I have ordered recently has come from a warehouse: mainly Bethlehem (QVC and HSN) and Piney Flats for HSN.

The only items I've received directly from a vendor is food.

Larger appliances and electronics with national brand names may be shipped from a manufacturer, but I don't believe that most apparel, skincare, home goods such as LocknLock and Temptations maintain their own distribution outlets.

I live in SoCal, and everything I've ordered for the last couple of years has come from their Ontario, CA warehouse. I also return items to that location, and they are processed quickly.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered an item on Saturday, and it arrived the following Tuesday.

I "love" their Ontario warehouse.

I have a similar experience with Bethlehem.

Many of my orders to NYC arrive within 3 or 4 days.

@Tinkrbl44 I haven't ordered in a while, but I have to say when I did receive or return anything, I mean ... anything from there, it took forever! Mostly Weeks, twice never came, lost! . I had so many issues, including loosing a $2,000 ring ...QVC had to refund. I am in NorCal, maybe it is different being in SoCal like you. . The rating on that warehouse is well below par. That said, anything that came from back East came to me was easy peasy, no issue.
I jave pretty good hopes for the future of QVC. It will be tough, but they will get through it. So many thousands do it every day. It will be restructured, a little different. But it will go on.
