We're being buried

Snow, snow, everywhere. Coming down. Fast and furious. I have no idea of how many inches now. It was close to 7" at 5:00 am. Might be the 14" they were talking about. Have to close the hatch now.

In Maryland. The entire state is like this. To our North, it looks ice.. Everyday this week will be in the teens to 20F. That's all. The snow will remain here. My school is closed to for the week. Nobody around outside. Sky is grey/yellowish. Haven't heard or seen lightning. Yes lighting is out there when it snow storms.

No snow or ice here but bitter cold temps lately and supposed to warm up next week. Today 10 and warmer and Monday 14 and then gradually increase. Not warm but better than below temps we were experiencing. I don't see any snow forecast in my part of Iowa but may have some in other areas.

New Jersey and our temperatures are supposed to be in the teens all week. This stuff will never melt.

My son and family are near Annapolis and it's coming down heavy and has been for some time. Four to five inches so far but not even near done.

@songbird, so are we. I'm shoveling every few hours to keep it from piling up. I just came in from shoveling. A lady was on her way to work at the hospital and she had her baby in the car. I had to shovel her out several times and she was finally able to go

I hope everyone affected by this storm is able to stay inside safe and warm. Just woke up and turned o. the weather channel. That is some snow storm and ice in some areas

I wonder how PJM made it into work. I see none of the vendors did except Mark Peters of NYDJ. Stay safe

i just heard tha t lots of areas are losing power. I hope you have generators.

I'm in Northern VA and so far we've only gotten a couple of inches of snow and it's currently sleeting - much before the predicted change of snow to sleet at 1:00. Don't know what that means about when we'll go to freezing rain and ice accumulation. So far we have power.

Just starting here in MA. In case of outages I am charging phone, laptop etc and doing the laundry and dishwasher. I have lots of books to read and thankfully a gas fireplace . Stay safe everyone

@Travone We know it's January. We have had 3-4" of snow on the ground since November. This storm though is life threatening to some and to be taken seriously.

In New Jersey, snowing hard and precipatation also. The whole week will be between 6 and 11 degrees to start.

Also in MD, but near the coast, so the warmer ocean temp has tampered down snow totals. About 4 inches so far - predicted was 4 to 8 for this part of MD. However, rain/sleet will start soon so snow will be gone and we will be left with ice - which is worse.

12 to 14 inches here in PA expected, who knows the weather people are usually

never right.

But we have been planning and preparing for this one for several days now. So

I can't wait until it's over and done but this snow will be here for a long time and

temperatures are going to be bitter for at least a week or more.

Started snowing here in my area around 3 am and supposed to be pretty much

a 24 hour event.

Son is away at college and hubby at work so he will plow our drive tonight or

in the morning.

I always shovel our sidewalks and make a large walkway for our dogs. They

love to be out in the snow for a little bit and play and then I towel them off

and they get warm and cozy inside. Have new bones to give them later cause

they get so bored in the house.

This is a brutal winter and it started early December for us and alot to go

yet unfortunately.

How much more is expected? We'll get about an inch today in metro Denver around half time of the Broncos game.

@Teddixat I heard Rick say the other day that many of them would be staying in hotels close by.

We still have power. This will not be the 2016 Maryland storm that dumped 32" of snow in one day. But it's bad.
