Yearly Treat 🍫

I just made my holiday order of Sees candy and it made me so happy. It isn't just for us as we offer it to our holiday guests. I ordered an assortment and a box of my favorite dark chocolate scotchmallows. It's a once a year indulgence and I have zero guilt . Do you have a once a year holiday favorite ?

Yes, I have ordered fancy food from Swiss Colony just for Christmas every year for decades, especially petit-fours.

Now I also order some QVC items like wines and Lindor truffles (both for my husband).

I just received a flyer from Swiss Colony. My mom always ordered their treats for her Chistmas parties. Brought back a lot of fond memories flipping through that flyer.

@QVCkitty1 A few Enstrom toffees. I can't give the whole tub away!

I did place an order for two tins of Garrett Popcorn from Chicago. It is sooooo good. Their mix (cheddar/carmel) is very good. I had some at a Chicago layover this summer.

@FancyPhillyshopper I haven't seen a Swiss colony catalog in years......I didn't realize they were still in business.

I get the Lindor truffles every year, a lot of them go into gifts...then DH & I enjoy the rest! I also get myself a box of Nyaaker Gingersnaps, SO good with eggnog.

OMG--Swiss Colony!!!! My adult daughter still squeals with delight about them--I used to order all the time from them. good memories. I usually indulge in a premium chocolate goodie----Godiva or a local chocolate artisan. Not alot just a few pieces. LOVE Sees tho--I got my SIL a huge 3 layer box of chocolate as her happy retirement gift last March and always ask her if she has had her daily Vit See!! Love their bag of choc chunks for baking---another fave is from Cost Plus--its a soft gingerbread cookie coated in choc . So good!!

I worked at a Swiss Colony retail store when I was in high school. I liked the job and it was extra-fun and busy during the holidays. Created many cheese and sausage trays, and the discount was nice too. Good times.

I used to turn a 40-pound block of cheese food into 46 nut-covered cheese balls or logs. Bet I could still form and wrap one in only a couple of minutes.

I always get my brothers Feridies Virginia peanuts - salted and chocolate covered. They love them! I'm thinking of getting a set of peanuts, chocolate covered, and party mix for my DIL's parents. There is something about those Virginia peanuts.

Since 1985 I have made 5 pds of Double Decker fudge (chocolate and peanut butter) for every Thanksgiving. It is made the old school method boiling and beating till smooth, no microwave involved.

@tansy It is called "Beef Log" and it is still my favorite summer sausage-type snack, especially with a bit of "Sweet Hot Mustard". My assignment on my first day as an employee was to offer samples to shoppers entering the store.

Good for you! I make my chocolate walnut fudge the old-fashioned boil and beat way also. It does taste better and keeps my right arm muscular.

For me it's ordering the Enstrom Toffee. Especially the petite bites for portion control.

I will also give in if I come across White Chocolate Bark with Almonds, but never peppermint...never.

Swiss Colony was probably the first mail order food catalog I ordered from. So many nostalgic Christmas gifts and treats.

I need to check out their website.

@tansy I remember getting the petit fours at the mall at the holiday season.
