I can so relate!

Was it a nice simple turn of the clock in my car? Oh no, can't have that!

To menu, to clock, to settings, then try to remember which knob to turn, then clock, then menu, then click and back to the main screen again!

I can relate to the stove picture. It took me several tries on Sunday morning to get my stove clock on track.

@Kachina624. That is a riot! I had to buy a new car in the summer and STILL haven't figured out half of the fancy schmany things yet alone changing the clock. Just give me A/C, power windows and a radio and I'm good!

@Bonkers1 The manual that came with my new car was promptly shoved into the glove box. LOL! I'll never read that monster of a thing, unless I have an emergency need to do so.

And use that backup camera? No thank you. I still crane my neck backing out of the garage. I don't trust that camera! I guess, as they say, "it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks". 😉

I find it odd that I set back the coffee pot, micro and stove. At the same time, however two days later all three show different times. 5:04, 5:06 and 5:03.

I got a 2007 fully-loaded Avalon with only 500 miles in 2010 and absolutely love that car. I recently got it retrofitted with a backup camera.

At almost 81 this month, I can say it made handling the car so much easier. I can't twist around the way I used to do, so backing out of the garage or a busy parking slot it so much easier and SAFER to boot !!!

I practiced for about ten minutes to make certain I knew exactly what the red, yellow and green lines meant in terms of "closeness" to an object.

All in all, it was the best $500 I ever spent for the peace of mind when I am backing up and turning around. Be safe.

Come to think of it my car changed the time by itself! I have to take a good look tomorrow. For years I would struggle with changing the clock in my car.

I have a LandRover. The clock sometimes changes by itself...but only to Army time, lol. Then I have to remember the loop holes to click to,get to actually set the time.

I have only two timey things that change twice a year:

*my laptop, which does it automatically

*my digital watch that I wear 24/7, which I have to reset

Lots of playing around with the buttons before it's correct.

I don't bother changing the time in my car when just adding an hour for daylight savings takes no time and no effort.

@monicakm. My new car is like a Flintstones car compared to that cruise ship you bought. I could never deal with that. All I want/need is a small, basic car.

But now it's brake assist, lane assist, this assist, that assist....... The only assistance I need is assistance with the assistance! LOL!

If you bought it at a dealership, THEY have the responsibility to get you comfortable with the new ride.

If the salesperson isn't happy to have you come back in, speak to the manager ... or the owner.

Do not struggle on your own.

I'm impressed too!

It took me over year to try it, and awhile to get used to it and not use the me turning around method.

But it's still not infallible. I was backing out of my garage and all in the yellow lines (I only have yellow and orange) and my side mirror on the passenger side clonked the side of the garage. I thought wait! I was in the yellow lines!

I also don't understand the dotted orange line before the solid one Does the dotted line mean I'm going to hit what I'm backing into or just a warning or what?

Sorry this is not about the time but since this was brought up, we might as well look into all these technical not very simple things that are supposed to improve our lives, but can cause lots of aggravation trying to figure them out!

When I got my 2024 Subaru, I had to return to the dealer a few days later to take a "class(es)". Someone sat with me and went over how to use everything, especially the Apple car play.

I love the back up mirror. Several cars ago, it was a little picture on my rear view mirror. Now it's just about a movie screen! I haven't turned my head in about 2 years.
