My take - big whoop. Not impressed. There's a lot of good that money could do here and now and the 14 month old can make his own fortune in the future if he so chooses.

@ThinkingOutLoud Nothing wrong at all with a family fortune. She made the money, she should be thinking about her son's future. That doesn't stop both of them from helping others with their (and I repeat "their" money). Kids are part of a family. It's something that hopefully extends beyond one generation.

Family is love, security, acceptance, and help for one another. Very obvious when you have no family left.

I think @ThinkingOutLoud means that this boy will hopefully go out in the world and make something of himself - just like both his parents. Or maybe he can just live off his trust fund and never work a day in his life.

Of course there's nothing wrong with family fortune but 1 Billion is more than plenty to set aside some for the kid and use the majority of it for the good of others, especially when the kid's dad and uncles also have money as well. The kid will be more than fine but thanks for the unnecessary lecture.
