Jane Goodall, renowned zoologist and primatologist, has passed away at 91.

Wow, the world will certainly miss her. She did so much to foster interest in and appreciation for the natural world.

Dian Fossey worked with gorillas, while Jane specialized in chimpanzees.

They both worked with anthropologist Louis Leakey.

A lesser known colleague, Birute Galdikas, studied orangutans.

They were coined "The Trimates."

As sorry as I am that she is gone, I'm hoping she went peacefully. Carry On, Dame Goodall.

I cried for an hour after learning she passed. . . we lost an angel. . .

Oh no!! She was a magnificent human being. Smart, compassionate, accomplished, and rich in life choices. A beautiful human inside and out. Her legacy will live on through her work. What a wonderful role model for every young person.

A compassionate, loving, intelligent ethologist, she was a pioneer whose work will live on.

Such a great woman. She communicated with chimpanzees and helped us understand them better. Saving the natural world is more important than money and profits.

Very sad news. I have followed her groundbreaking work since I was in elementary school. (I'm in my 60s.)

she is on my personal list of most admired woman. What an achievement , and contribution she has made to our world, especially science and anthropology. I was going to say, I admire her sacrifice. But I believe she enjoyed every moment of her life! Thank you Jane Goodall!!!

As a lil girl, I watched this valiant woman any time she was on TV. I read about her. I loved her. I also cried over her. As a kid I cried, asked my mom-what will happen to those beautiful primates if she dies?! I was so worried for her and those animals. It stuck with me for life. As a 62yr old woman, today I cried again over her. She was so important.
