I'm thinking we will soon see the scrolling message on the bottom of our screen that schools are closed. It's getting the kids there and home safely that becomes a problem.

I think so too. Sadly, except for the traveling to and from school where the dangers lie many children are probably better off to be in a nice warm building than some of these homes that can't be heated properly.

I'm thinking our schools are going to be closed too. No announcement yet, but we were closed Friday. We only have 2 more snow days left to last us the rest of the winter. I like having the kids home.

I feel your pain. They never stop ingesting food.

My 6'7"" SIL has hollow legs.....I have yet been able to fill him up no matter how much food I make!

Schools aren't closed here, but I imagine they will be. The news said anytime it's colder than -30, schools have to close for the kids safety.

DD has tomorrow off because they had tests last week. They haven't said anything about Tuesday yet.

Maybe not all schools are closed. City of Madison has a message on their website that public schools will be open on Monday, January 27th. Those poor kids who have to take the bus to school. It will be 35 below zero. A lot of rural schools are closed but not in Dane County yet.

Dang that's cold.

I taught 3 years in suburban Milwaukee. I remember school being closed once due to weather. It was cold and snowy but I do not remember anything below 0. Single digits at night and upper teens and 20's were common.

Here it is already 40 but tomorrow will be in the teens.

Our local weather man said that tomorrow morning (Tuesday) could be record breaking for an actual low.
