How often do you

Use the self scanners in the stores..My supermarket is always pushing it..I'm not a s company employee! While they have a cashier(arms folder) watching what goes over the scanner.

I have trouble getting them to "help" bag my groceries( I have servere shoulder problems)..I always ask before putting my stuff on the belt..One day the girl say "no"..I let her ring everything up and then told her I didn't want it!..So she had to get a manager..he bagged the stuff for me..Never saw the girl again.

I usually get an annoyed look..I tell them I do not work or get paid from the store to work...

I always try to bag the fragile stuff myself...don't get me wrong...a lot of the cashiers do help bag.

They do not bag the items in the self check out line. I once asked for a bag and the worker just pointed to a stack of bags on a table. I needed to get my own and bag my own items.

Walk out the store after bypassing the scanners.

Self check and bagging my own is fine for a few items. CostCo has a cashier and will box in your cart. WinCo has a cashier and you bag your own. They all work for me.

I use it every time I shop unless I am buying a gift card then I want them to do it and I get the gift receipt confirming the gift card is good. I do not have any health issues so bagging my own and taking the load to my car is not a problem, yet.

I use the self scanner and bring my own bags. Usually there is no line and I bag my groceries the way I want them bagged. No unnecessary chatting with cashiers at the checkout. If I do use the checkout I still bag my own groceries in my own bags. Then again, I have no medical issues. There are a few grocery stores here that automatically bag groceries for you which is where to shop if you have dexterity issues.

At our local Jewel supermarket we always scan and bag our items ourselves. It's faster. Just wish they would give a discount for doing so!

At Trader Joe's cashier scans and we bag although he/she would bag for us without a problem.

Guess it depends where you shop.

I use them 100% of the time that the store has them.

I much, much prefer to scan and bag my purchases myself.

I seek out and prefer locations that have them. I love them.

Most recently I just used them at Target, Wegmans and CVS.

You mean the self checkout? I use it a lot. I mostly buy a few items and it gets me out of the store quickly. I don't mind it. The more you use it the easier it gets.

You may want to try store delivery. Often there are 14 and 30 day free trials and you can see if it works for you.

Had Safeway delivery yesterday after starting a 14 day free delivery trial. It was fine and will sign up full time if there ever is a time when it is needed.

Not often, only if I have a few items. Our super market has an attendant who is very nice & is responsive. She has been there since the self scanners were placed. It takes me too long to self scan.

I use the self check out whenever and where ever it is available. I can pack my bags the way I want it as in, no soap with the food, no frozen items touching cardboard boxed items, etc. I don't like them squishing my bread or thumping my melons. I also can catch any errors when the items ring up. I don't get the reasoning that you don't work as a cashier for the store. I am not a gas attendant but I still have to gas up myself......Don't know why that #1 appeared at the beginning of my post, but I can't delete it..

I rarely use them. I've had two spinal fuisons and walking around the store, getting what I need, putting it up on the belt, getting in the car, getting it in the house and then putting it where it belongs is enough for me. If I have to scan and bag also the entire process is too much for my back.

I'm proud to say I've never done a single self check out. I mostly buy everything I need online and had grocery pick up for several years then started grocery delivery, all before the self check out craze started before Covid.

I have no idea how it's done.

I'm usually at the store (Walmart) before there is a cashier available, so I use the self checkout there and use cash. At Wegman's I use a cashier and cash as their self check only does debit or credit. I still use cash whenever I can.

Just one more example of customer service disappearing and cost cutting at customer expense. Besides, there always seems to be a glitch requiring an attendant to intervene. I despise them.

Never use them, even for smaller amount of items. The stores are having customers do the work but don't see any benefit for me to do so.
