Glad to see some different fashion, just like Stacey London. I will say most of her stuff feels similar to Marla Wynne on HSN, oversized and boxy. That is just not my style. But that cute floral shirt dress I was very tempted to purchase, sadly that double edge sword of 100% cotton pushed me away. I love the cooling factor but I hate ironing it, let alone a full shirt dress. I welcome her perspective in a land of liquid knit and pull on capris from DandC.

New and different tempts me not at all when in one way or another every item I saw was wrong for my body. I will never be tall and slender like a traditional model on whom the clothes might well be flattering.

As for hard sell -- as soon as I begin hearing the same lines repeated from either the vendor or the host - that may not be your version of hard sell, but it's my cue to walk away from the TV. I gave Carla her 2 0r 3 minutes.

I have been following Caarla Rockmore for sometime on instagram. She knows true fashion, its history, design and clothing construction. She is obviously not for everyone as that beautiful floral dress, and other items had people shaking their head. I understand. I don't know any clothing designer who's every item appeals to everyone. I have maybe ten of her pieces and they are on constant rotation. Yesterday I purchased the cinched blouse in yellow stripe, the echru pants, and the striped sweater. Happy to see the Q moving into new clothing designers. It is about time.

It seems, like many designers, Carla designs for herself and her specific body type. I'm sure her clothes will thrill some who yearn for higher fashion and "different" styles but they'd look riduculous on the average shorter, fluffier woman. I laughed out loud when I saw that circular, faux leather skirt.

I have her barrel jeans in a dark rinse that I wear way to much. I also have the heavy yellow sweater from her first show. It will look great with the cinched blouse. I don't think you have to be tall and slim to wear her clothes. Would I buy her faux leather skirt? No. Just for reference I wear a size 14 in most items, or a large, and I am 5'6" tall...hardly willowy.... and hardly young.
