Happy St. Patrick's Day

Toni and her family will be going to a

St. Patrick's Day Ceili as they do, every year. It will be at a Hibernian Hall.

There will be a band playing Irish music

and dancing.

Toni has been taking Irish step dancing lessons and she is excited and looking

forward to performing with her dance group, for the first time at a Ceili.

Toni is wearing a white blouse with a Peter Pan collar and puffed sleeves.

At her neckline is a little green bow and a 14kt. gold claddaugh. (It is actually one of my gold claddaugh earrings).

Using my poodle skirt pattern, I made Toni's skirt from green felt, with white lace embellishment and a little shamrock applique. She is wearing her black step dancing shoes.

We all wish Toni good luck with her performance.

@Enufstuff you've truly outdone yourself.

First, I love Toni's hair, a very soft, strawberry color. Beautiful!

Your using your earring as her necklace was inspired. It couldn't look any prettier.

Toni's dress is so sweet, just perfect.

She will be the belle of the ball at the celebration for sure.

This Toni was added to my collection last year.

I could not resist her with this hair color. I had never seen this strawberry blonde on a Toni doll before.

In a book about Ideal Company Dolls, this color is described as "Apricot" and is rare, since few Toni Dolls were made with this color wig. Blonde was the most popular and most produced color for these dolls, back in the 50s.

@Enufstuff - Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and Toni! She looks adorable, and I so wish I could see her step dancing. I've seen one performance that one of DD's friends was in when the girls were young.

I love her puffed sleeve blouse and her beautiful green skirt. It goes so well with her red hair and blue eyes. The claddaugh is the piece de resistance - so pretty!

Most of the people here seem to be a little younger

than I am and don't know about Toni Dolls.

I got my first two Toni Dolls in the 50s, when I was six years old. Now I have 15 and I also have all my Ginny Dolls from my childhood. As an adult, I've collected more of both, plus Madame Alexanders.

What kind of dolls do you have? Antique, vintage or modern?

My mother loved and collected dolls and I have some of hers. In the 90s, when all the dolls shows were on QVC and HSN, I bought porcelain dolls, some by Marie Osmond. That was fun.

Did you ever buy any of those porcelain dolls?

@Enufstuff So I started out collecting the dolls on the Q, like Marie Osmond dolls and Bette Ball. I then started going to doll shows and I began to collect vintage and antique dolls as well. I have two from France and 2 from Germany, which reside decorating the house. I have a designated doll room (spare bedroom dedicated to dolls). I love the beauty of any type of dolls. I also have a love for the dolls from the 50's. Your Toni is exquisite!
