It's amazing how dirty eyeglasses get. I know this is not the preferred way of cleaning them but I just use water and a paper towel.

With every new pair of glasses my eye doctor's office will include a "small" bottle of eyeglass cleaner. I also have picked up a bottle of eyeglass cleaner at my local Meijer. If my glasses have gotten really dirty, the eyeglass cleaner will just smear the dirt/grime so I'll run it under the water and clean them with diluted dish soap and dry them off with a cloth towel.

I see a DIY recipe online: 3/4 container of rubbing alcohol, fill rest with water, add 2 drops dish soap and mix!

Yes they get dirty ,looking for good little cloths to clean them,on the go.

I have used on occasion Dawn, glass cleaner and the cloth included with my glasses. They all do well. When I use the Dawn I put the glasses totally in the water as I think the ear pieces get oily from hair and skin.

Best thing I have ever used are the Campanelli cloths from QVC. Keep one everywhere

I give these every year at Christmas, they are fantastic. Everyone in my family has one, they ask for another along with the small philosophy bath gels.

I haven't seen anything clean glasses as well as these. Dishwashing soap and water works great when glasses get really dirty.

I wash mine in dish soap about once a week, sometimes use the old jewelry cleaner machine, and buy Magic Fiber Microfiber cloths from Amazon, along with Zeiss cleaner in packs or simple alcohol cleaning cloths in individual packs.

I like the Zeiss spray the best, followed by their wipes. That seems to work better than what I get from my doctor.

I also use a diluted rubbing alcohol solution or just a drop of dish soap on my fingers and wet with water and rub, then rinse under the tap and dry.

I prefer old all-cotton t-shirt material for drying cloths.

At one optometrist office the girl said their pink lens cleaner they gave us was alcohol and water and a drop of red liquid food color to make it pale pink!

I use a good lens cleaner, one without alcohol, but most important is to always rinse of the lenses first before spraying on a cleaner. Then I use a Bounty paper towel or a non lotion tissue. Some cheaper brands can be too rough. Dry cleaning with the lens cloth should only be when water is not avail. as it can partially scrub the dirt particles into the lenses, and it is really only for dry cleaning not made to use after wet cleaning, although commonly done. Same with the pre-moistened towelettes. As someone in the eyecare industry for over 30 years, I have seen it all too often. People take the easy route, or are never told any different, and only use the lens cloth. So they overuse it, and also never wash it. Lenses are super expensive, so it is such an important step. If using a case, always try to put them in the case clean if possibe. I remember a Man taking his glasses out of his case in front of me wondering why they were so scratched. As I inspected his case, sand was falling out of it. Hmmm.... mystery. I digress, we all make mistakes. Also, if you really want to get them clean, I highly recommend getting a small ultrasonic cleaner for your glasses, and use once every couple of months. You would be amazed at how much dirt and oils gets trapped between the lens and frame and just gets smeared around when cleaning. I often do this as a courtesy, and people are always blown away at how much better they can see.

Exactly what I use !!!! I use dish detergent for a hard clean and the micro-fiber cloth....sometimestime makeup is hard to clean off

I keep Zeiss cleaner at my desk and wipes in my car/purse. Every once in awhile (AKA when I think to do it) I pop them in my jewelry cleaner and run it on a 90 sec cycle.

A spray of Dawn Powerwash, rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth. My glasses seem to stay clean longer using this method.

I use Campanelli micro fiber cloths, also. I read that paper towels can scratch as they are made from wood pulp.
