Do You Remember These Fun Games?😊

We did not have today's computer and cellphone games, but we still had endless fun! How many of you remember these fun games we played with family and friends? Who did you play with? 😁 I played with family and friends; especially during summer vacation and weekends!🥰 We sometimes had team competitions that I welcomed! If you can think of another, please share!😁 I absolutely LOVED❤️ Mother May I?😁

hot potato musical chairs Duck Duck/Goose Goose flashlight tag

Boogle Yatzhee Barbie mystery date the magic 8 ball

roller skates tightened over your shoes with the key

Jump rope was even more fun when the mothers joined in

Lets not forget hoola hoops

Oh my gosh. Tetherball was huge when I was in Elementary School, and it was very competitive too. I remember a girl who seriously would get so mad if someone beat her.. It was so fun though.

I also remember Old Maid, that was a fun one that I played with my girls, and also my grandchildren when they were younger, along with Go Fish and Memory and Operation, Candyland....Otheres that I can't think of right now, but what fun memories!

Yes, Mother may I and Red light,green light was another one. Hopscotsch and Double Dutch..Aaah the memories.....

The old childhood memories bring to me a mixed bag of happiness and sadness. For example, I can't look at old photographs. I am not good with nostalgia. Anyway, I remember playing almost all of those games. Don't know what Spud is, makes me think of Mr Potato Head hahaha!

I will Google it now.

Edited...Spud = dodgeball? Childhood gym class cruelty. Saying that lightheartedly but I gotta say that I wasn't a fan.

We also used to "paint" on the sidewalk with a bucket of water and a paintbrush. We had to paint fast on sunny days.

Digital appliances have amazing applications, but overall they don't seem to have improved the quality of childhood and teenage life experiences.

Spin the bottle One friends mother worked so we would go to his house until his mother found out. It was innocent and fun.

@PhilaLady1 Oh, how I agree about gym class in grade school. Our gym teacher was more than a monster -- she was sadistic. She was an older, heavy set, manish type woman who probably never was able to do most of the things she forced us to do/try. I wasn't good at anything in gym, and it was painfully embarrassing for me.

I think many of us had the same gym class teacher. In ninth grade we had a gym teacher whose gender was in question. We weren't sure which pronoun she responded to.

I loved so many of these too.

Makes me want to go out and have a good game of jump rope!

Red Rover-we would get pretty rough and loved it! Who could crash through letting nothing stop them!

I don't know what spud is either. Or Aggravation, or Light Bright.

I loved tether ball so much but I fell off the top with straight knees on the cement trying to untie the rope which had to be taken down every night. This was at school and I was 10-I couldn't walk and an ambulance came. That was the first of many back injuries!

We also did a lot of very competative kick ball and 50 yard dashes at recess and arm wrestling.

And Ouiji Board with my grandmother. We all believed and it could get spooky!

Just reading about all these games makes me happy-I still play a lot of them with my grandkids.

I remember playing Red Light/Green Light, Mother May I? Simon Says, and Tag with my friends when I was in elementary school in Georgia. We played in the street in front of one of our homes. Like THAT would be allowed today! LOL!

I played Go Fish and Old Maid with my grandmother. War was popular when I was in college.

I played Operation and Candy Land with my own children. I absolutely love board games! Monopoly and Risk were my favorites when I was young. I played Trivial Pursuit with DH and friends. We usually played men against the women. And you haven't lived until you have played Marry, Date, or Dump with a group of teenage girls!

Until last year Santa Claus would bring us all a board game for Christmas, and we would ALL play it. Now with everyone on their phones, and DS a huge gamer, I no longer get a game. HOWEVER, this year I bought Blank Slate, because someone told me it's lots of fun. I played it once with friends, but my family wasn't interested.

I remember Colorforms, Yo-yo's, Slinkies, and Silly Putty, and that Magic Eight Ball - all when I was young. I think we used to press the Silly Putty into the Sunday paper cartoon section to get a picture on it. I wasn't very good at the yo-yo.

I loved my Viewmaster and my Etch-a-Sketch!

Do you all remember the paper fish? You would take it out of its package, put it into the palm of your hand and it would curl up. Then you would look at the package to see what the position your fish was in meant.

@on the bay Welcome!🥰 I SO LOVE❤️ your post, and am glad you are enjoying the nostalgic walk down memory lane! Aggravation is a fun game using marbles on a board! It is a lot of fun and surprisingly available on Amazon!😁 I think you would enjoy playing with your dear grandchildren.❤️

I enjoy competition and had forgotten about the 50 yard dash! My friends and I would play Ouija board and someone was ALWAYS spooked by it!😁 It was addicting! We were scappy; scared and HAPPY!😂

My parents were strict, but my mom sure loved to play games with us. I remember all those games. We also had a board game set called 56 games by Golden. There were 4 double sided game boards. Each side had lots of games on them. I wish they still made it so I could play the games with my grandson. Does anyone else remember 56 games?
