TYNIEC ABBEY IN POLAND

A breathtaking 11th century Benedictine abbey in Poland, near the fairy tale city of Krakow.

I love Polish castles, and this abbey is in that vein, but dedicated to a higher purpose. Dreamy.

The Benedictine monks there do a beautiful kind of chant, which you can listen to online, just by googling. As a Protestant, I'm not well versed in all the different kinds of chant, but have always loved listening to Gregorian chant. So ethereal and inspiring, and so is that of Tyniec Abbey.

Me too, @DSD2 -- I had no idea, and am often amazed at how many beautiful old structures there are in central and eastern Europe; we tend to be more familiar with the much-loved buildings of western Europe. Lots of treasures all over...
