SNOW IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!

Wow! Everyone was so excited when it started coming down and looked like we'd really get something! We called everyone we knew to see if it was snowing there.

Of course, by the fourth call, it had turned to a cold, icy (or "icey"...Google didn't know) rain and the fun was over.

@Shanus Be safe and I hope the ice turns back to snow. We much prefer the snow as it is so much easier to navigate. Sleet is the absolute worse!

Stay warm and safe. We have family in the Winston Salem area and heard schools were closed.

Here in Union Co, we have cold rainy weather - low 40's.

@cindyNC Well, no offense meant to the county or school but most have never heard of Wingate...now a 4 yr. school and 2 yrs. when I went.

REALLY getting a snow/ice storm beginning tomorrow the 10th and into the weekend. Oh well, DH running to grocery store for milk bread and eggs..that's what disappears first.

@monicakm It'll be a mixed event here beginning here at 5PM and into tomorrow...snow/rain/sleet. The kind of mess you can't play in or drive in because of the ice.

Milk? Let me know what else you need and I'll drop iit off for you.

Suggest keep On hand;

Peanut Butter,
Soup with snap off tops
HORMEL COMPLEATS (ex: Chicken Breast & Mashed Potatoes With Gravy Microwave Tray, 10 oz
And items that need to keep cold, ex drinks, frozen foods, bury in the snow outdoors. Keep on eye on those items snow levels

@JoyFilled Warrior If power's off how do I heat up in microwave (hormel dinners)?

BTW, I fill my laundry room sink w/ ice for my 1/2 & 1/2, milk, eggs, etc. Snow is my back up, thanks.

I know it sounds unappetizing, but I suggest the Hormel's room temperature, careful to select the particular Hormel that's most palatable when not heated. Just seems better to me than opened can of cold soup.

And when sick of peanut butter sandwiches heh

(I dont care for peanut butter, &/or jelly, at all)

Hope your "new eyes" went well today!!

Hormel Meals are already cooked.

They're 60 seconds microwave use away from a warmed, cooked meal.

Just a suggestion, in a pinch.

@JoyFilled Warrior Thanks for the info on Hormel. Unfortuneatly or fortuneatly I've been trying to eat very little prepared foods. I cook a lot and freeze in containers.

We never lost power although the ground is covered in ice and a layer of sleet/snow so the power could still be at risk if a tree falls near our power source. Our neighborhood and ones around us have buried wires, but there are still some that are not where trees fall from heavy branches or a car wrecks and hits power lines. on the highway or main roads not too far away.

Eyes: All is good. Doc said healed beautifully and after lunch out, I came home and played w/ eye makeup for a few hours. It had been about 6 weeks not wearing any!!!

Thank you so much for all the info and asking about my eyes' recovery.
