Why are customers not getting same % off as QVC Credit Cards do?

If we do not have a Q-Card we do not get % off if we use another credit card? We buy just as much if not more than others.

I have been a customer for over 30 years and hardly ever get an incentive to use my own other credit card.

I buy a lot from QVC and HSN and they both do that. Entering a credit card of my own choice doesn't count.

I know there are promotions to get the QVC/HSN cards but I have one card I use and that is enough.

I am sure others feel the same.

Actually, I don't feel the same.

I realize that added benefits utilizing a retailer's credit card is a practice that has been in place within the industry for more decades than I can think back. Retailers have a financial incentive for customers to use their card. I find that understandable.

It is different. The retailer wants you to owe money to the bank their credit card uses. Not everyone pays in full.

I don't want a Q card, but then we don't get their extras. I get that. If I wanted their extras, then I'd opt for their card.

QVC makes extra profit from sales on the Q Card due to their agreement with Synchrony Bank, as do dozens of other retailers. Hence they can afford to offer those card users a break.

I don't like it either but can understand why.

I understand why they do this but I too feel the regular customer should also share in some kind of discount when one is offered to their specific card holders. The way I resolve this is I will buy the product elsewhere (many items are also available on other websites) and then I get my rewards on the credit cards that I like to use. Basically QVC is then losing a sale.

Incentive for shoppers to sign up for and use a store card vs a general credit card

as a QCARD holder, i appreciate the added incentives for using it. arent there a TON of other retailers CCs that offer similar incentives? same with major credit card brands.

TiP - Get a credit card that rewards you WHEREVER you make a purchase !!

I don't like it one bit even though I know why it's done.

For me, one CC is enough and it sure isn't the Q card.

@RescueLover Very good point! That's what my LL Bean card does, plus free shipping free returns, and free monogramming always.

You reminded me that I need to use my Bean Bucks for their end of the year sales!

Have you ever been to their Awesome Flagship store and their Outlet Store in Maine?

The outlet has a ton of monogrammed merchandise that were either used for their catalogs, done in error or were returns.

My favorite purchase was a $15 Beach towel with a large LL Bean on one side and a lobster on the other. 😎

@RescueLover Yes I have been to the outlet store in Maine! I am a Bean girl for sure, I live in RI and we also have a store here and in nearby MA. Quick funny story.......DH and I went on a polar bear expedition several years ago in Churchill Canada and we were dressed in Bean outerwear from head to toe, people asked us if we were doing an LL Bean commercial, LOL!

I don't feel the same, I choose not to have a Q card. I have 2 cc's that offer cashback, one is set for cashback on all gas purchases, the other is set for cashback on all online purchases...I'm pleased with both & 2 cc's is enough for me.

I totally agree and it really ticks me off. I've been a QVC customer for over 35 years and a very good one but I absolutely refuse to use their HIGH INTEREST Q CARD when don't have to. I have credit cards, I have debit cards that serve as cash. I won't be pushed into a card just for discounts and whatever. I'm sure thousands upon thousands of us feel similarly but QVC doesn't care because they have us. We're shopping. We grumble but we aren't going anywhere.
