@JoyFilled Warrior Not quite. The quote is often attributed to the Dalai Lama- but it was written by John Huess (sp) in a Christian article or book. He actually paraphrased from Martin Huber, the philosopher of I-Thou I-It.

Regardless it is a beautiful quote, often found on inspirational sites, FB, etc. without authorship.

It really doesn't matter. The message is universal, no matter.

I see this same quote is additionally attributed to a John Green in his work "Looking for Alaska," as well.

Seems as often happens, the exact genesis of some of these most sage, wise quotes bounce around a bit, & subsequently, chance becoming attributed to any number of our most sage sharing philosophers, intellects & authors.

@JoyFilled Warrior Yes John Green but I think he referenced the quote not as his own. I'm not sure never read it.

I took out my book by the Dalai Lama and couldn't find that quote.

However if he ever said some format of it he may have been

quoting the Buddha.

It's still a guide for doing good regardless. We try.
