Has anyone seen this show on TLC? It's the most outrageous thing I've seen on that channel. It's about young girls who are taking dance lessons from this woman who gives new meaning to the term bit*ch. Her behavior and what she says cross the line minute-by-minute as the show progresses. I couldn't watch but one episode. I heard on the news today that one of the moms physically attacked the teacher and is being charged with assault. I say the old biddy had it coming.

I have watched a few times. The U K Dance Team went to a live taping of Dance Moms last year and performed.

No one has the right to assault anyone at any time. I do not care what they said or how mad you are .

Abby Lee is an abusive teacher of dance. She brow beats those kids...uses them against their parents. She has gone as far as to tell dancers...you are not dancing in this competition because of your mother. She has also told a dancer your not welcome on the team any longer because you did not stand up to your Mother and defend me.

I do not excuse hitting but anyone could see this coming.

The show is on Lifetime. TLC has its own set of junky shows.

The mothers on Dance Moms are not exactly stellar examples to their daughters either.

Abby is running a dance studio and wants to make a profit. If the mothers don't like her style they are free to leave.

Have never seen this program but if this teacher is so abusive why do mothers allow their daughters to continue in her classes. is there some reason the mothers don't remove their daughters from her dance classes?? Why would they continue to allow and accept this abuse???

Because she wins...me...my kids would be out of her classes so fast her head would spin. She is just horrible to her students. The Mom's(most) are not good examples either.

This show is LifeTime's version of TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras....desperate mothers living vicariously through their daughters even if it means subjecting them to all sorts of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse.

I would love to see a follow up show in a few years to see how many of these girls on Dance Moms are in therapy. As the name indicates....it's all about the moms!

I would never allow my child to be spoken to or treated in the manner of this "teacher". It's child abuse, pure and simple.

You said it perfectly. It is more important for their daughters to be on TV and get some sort of notoriety than it is to stand up to a bullying beast of an instructor. She makes me laugh too, wonder when the last time was that she actually danced. I took dance classes for 13 years, my parents sat through hundreds of hours of recitals, and they never would have allowed me to be in a dance academy where I was verbally abused. The world of professional dance is brutal, and I'm sure these moms all hope their daughters will be recognized and break through to become famous, but the odds are against most. I feel sorry for the young girls, their moms are mostly embarrassing and their teacher is a task master. Dance is supposed to be joyful.

Most of the mothers come across as less than educated but one has a doctorate and was a principal. She constantly complains that Abby favors the other girls over her daughter. I do not think her daughter is nearly as good as some of the others. Maddie is extremely talented but the others do not have the same level of talent.
