Last night watched show with Harry and Shawn and Harry repeatedly told Shawn how much Elton and David loved her. Apparently they have more shows in the works mentioned LA and France. Perhaps these other hosts who are leaving (Jenn Coffey) are making the right decision moving forward with their own lives. This happens in every day jobs with jealousy and favoritism and is the reason why employers lose good employees. This could be what's going at the Q certain hosts and vendors get preferential treatment while others who are equally qualified don't. Sometimes you just know when enough is enough and move on to better opportunities. I congratulate Jenn Coffey on her decision she was a great host and excellent presenter. I do see a lot of favoritism with Shawn and perhaps others are getting tired of it.

@theresa It does happen. Many years ago I was working for an Eye Doctor who had 6 practices at the time with several Doctors in each Office. We all had a salary in addition to sales comissions. Our vendors would often give the Doctors perks and nice gifts which my Boss would then use to boost sales by way of contests between the Opticians. So one year, whoever had the highest sales 3 months in a row would win the prize. Well I won, and after that, whenever one of the Doctors would come out of the exam room with a patient they would take them straight to me, for obvious reasons. I was never pushy in sales, it was more that I loved what I do and the people I helped. I was patient, kind, and relatable and got to know my Patients very well. Most of them became friends. I had been asked if I could train others, but it is simply something you can't really teach. I myself am drawn to watching Shawn for the same reasons. She's real, with all her flaws, but she's fun, happy, and loves what she does and her excitment is contagious. No Boss or Company in their right mind wouldn't take advantage of that.

If it hard to believe that Elton and David are sitting around watch the Q enough for that

I think it has more to do with personality and who would be more "compatible" with a particular guest or vendor.

I agree a lot with the OP. It is also possible that people are getting out while there is a work place from which to look for a job. It is always easier that way.

I don't know about preferential treatment but I do know I'm tired of Slatkin and I'm tired of hearing him and Shawn puffing about Elton John and their freaking candles.

@KittySoftPaws there are a lot of other qualified hosts on the Q but it seems Shawn takes that extra mile. Example doing the pod casts and one of the leads of Fab over 50. She's believable to a certain audience and if the Q is getting lots of sales from her they will continue to use her with guests. I really don't understand the hype about Elton John and Harry's candles. It's the same situation with John Legend and skin care. I can name other celebrities on the Q and really don't get it. If they were leaving the profits to charities it would be a great gesture of generosity.

I saw Harry Slatkin on Instagram talking about their trip to London and that he handpicked Shawn to be the host based on their personal friendship. I assume, that friendship goes beyond Jen's time on QVC.

Shawn seemed thrilled to be going to London and it seems like she and Harry have a very good working relationship. I don't look into it anymore than that. Jen would have made a terrible choice to do those London shows. She makes everything about her and is very off-putting with her presentation style. I suppose some feel the same way about Shawn. It all comes down to Harry's choice and he chose her. I don't think anymore should be made about it than that. Plus, she's leaving anyway.

Certainly , makes it pretty blah seeing the same Hosts all the time. How many shows do they think customers wantt to see Shawn or Jane or David all the time .

@skatting44 Very telling about the people that watch QVC. You can guess which audience these three appeal to. I rarely see any QVC, but other than these three, several of the hosts seem to be not very educated on the items they are selling or much of anything for a few.

I think QVC is putting the emphasis on demographics and youth for the hosts, not on interesting people who know a lot about the world and are more intellectual. And that's saying a lot. . . but some of the new ones in recent past have simply seemed to be lacking in education and have made some really bizarre blunders.

The original post is too much of a reach for me. Jen is leaving because she's taking a different path in life. I would find it hard to believe it had anything to do with Shawn or any other host.

Shawn filled the Lisa role when she left. The host who travels around, hosts the holiday shows, etc. There's not much more to it than that. Whether one likes her or not, that's where QVC has positioned her.

As much as QVC wants you to think the hosts are all one big happy family, it's just not possible. You have to have and ego to be in the hosting business, and I'm sure envy and jealousy abound among the on-air gang at the Q.

I think Shawn was chosen to do the Elton John thing due to her relationship with Harry. If Harry had a personal relationship with another host instead, that host would have been chosen.

People....they are selling candles! They hype it up like Elton John is going to come to your house and give you a private concert. That's what a shopping channel does. They make the product sound unbelievable so you think you need it. Shawn seems to be good at playing that game.

The rationale offered by the OP for Jennifer's departure seems a little farfetched for me. I'll go with her own explanation.

As in any workplace I'm sure not every host likes and gets along with all the others. But they're on TV so they have to fake it.
