I remember sitting in the warehouse with my mother to pick up packages. First you got a number and waited for it to be called. Seemed like forever.

My sister still has a microvwave from them! Works like a charm! Uses it every day.

I remember Montgomery Wards from at least 35 years ago. DH and I bought a trio of wood tables and they still look new today........I keep thinking of replacing them but could never pull the trigger since there's nothing wrong with them.

Mygrandmother worked at "Bon Marché" in Ft Worth Texas, which then became Montgomery Wards.

My grandmother would give me fancy little dresses from The Bon Marché at Christmas. This thrilled my mother...maybe this enthusiasm began my appreciation of fashion?

I never was taken inside the store, so don't know what it looked like in there! It must have been a novel trend-setter back in the day!

I remember Montgomery Ward. Does anyone else remember the year "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer" came out?

Montgomery Ward gave away small cardboard reindeer characters..

I'm getting old!

I remember when the one near me closed. Pretty sure that site predated the local mall. So many stores are gone now. Used to be fun to go out shopping.

This was our Montgomery Ward in Menands, located between Albany and Troy, New York.

Built in 1929 near the Port of Albany and it's own railroad stop for ease of merchandise distribution.

USA made items and goods delivered right to the distribution building.

Gosh, I remember Montgomery Wards, my girlfriend and I got our ears pierced in the Jewelry dept back in the day, such fun times.

So funny reading this.. I used to be an Accessories buyer for Montgomery Wards! The office was located on Seventh Avenue in NYC. Those were the days. Long time ago. lol

That is the same one I was talking about. The pick up warehouse was in the back building.

There's an old abandoned Montgomery Ward store building in our area that has been fenced and empty for ages .... I noticed last week they are knocking it down.

I wonder what they'll do with the property. I doubt it'll be another B&M store.
