JFK was killed, it was also on a Fri afternoon. very dark day in this country, I remember the entire weekend so well.

Yes, I remember the day and certain things that took place. All the bells in every church and denomination were tolling. Television was reporting the incidents on all the stations. The ladies of the neighborhood all came over to my folks house and mourned. People were in shock and school ende early that day.

I also remembered it being a Friday. It was fairly warm for November here in eastern PA. I remember looking at the gray clouds going by and thinking they looked like how we felt.

I remember, we got sent home from school early. Our grade school teacher gave each of us a hug as we got on the school bus. It was a cold, snowy day in my area.

I too remember this so clearly, I was 10.

And it was my grandma's birthday. . . she would be 125 today.

I was in California with my Mom and Dad and baby brother, I was a month away from my 2nd birthday so I have no memory of it. My Mom said we were eating at a diner when the news came out on the diner's t.v. At one point one of the diners noticed a car in the parking lot with Texas plates and they wanted to know who it belonged to? Mom and Daddy said nothing, continued eating then later slipped out when everyone was focused on the television.

I remember it well. I was in 4th grade and walking into the lunchroom for lunch. I also remember seeing Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby as he was being lead out of the police station. I shouted to my mom that Oswald had been shot! It was live TV.

I met JFK during the primary and have his autograph. The entire country was in mourning beginning that Friday afternoon and the television stations (only ABC, CBS and NBC at the time) provided on going coverage. It still seems like yesterday and brought us all to our knees.

I remember the Monday after was declared a National Day of Mourning , schools and everything were closed so that people could attend services at their places of worship.

I can never forget the date. It was my fathers birthday. He would be 106 today.

Yes, it was quite a day. I was 18 and in Business College. When one of the guys yelled out, "the President has been shot", everyone screamed. I just started to cry and could not stop. When we were told we could go home I went out into the city and you could hear a pin drop, it was so quiet.

I also watched Ruby kill Oswald live on TV.

I will always remember this day for the rest of my life. As a matter of fact, last year on this date I had a heart cath and just before they put me out I said John Kennedy was killed on this day.

I was in Home Ec class when we heard about president Kennedy being shot. We were all sent home from school early and I was glued to the TV. Still remember that day and my Grandma would have been 135 years old today.

It was the gloomiest of weekends with nothing else on the 3 tv channels but coverage of the assassination. The gloom stayed over us til the Beatles came to America in February '64 & gave us kids something to be excited about & fun returned to our lives.

Such a sad day. We were sent home from school.

I felt so bad for Jacqueline Kennedy, and teared up when her little son, John, saluted his father's casket as it passed.

I remember it well. I was a sophomore at University of Md ( and as I was from Silver Spring I had seen JFK a number of times, including at his very snowy inaugural). My sorority sisters and I were very traumatized, as was everyone in USA. Some of us drove to Capitol late that night and waited in a miles long line ( 10-12 people across) to pay our respects. 61 years later I'm still glad we did that.

I had just turned 3 years old when Kennedy was assasinated. I felt I grew up with JFK Jr

and remember being quite sad when he died in the plane accident.

SO much tragedy in the Kennedy family, John jr, his wife,her sister,there parents lost both their daughters.

I remember being dismissed from school - the nuns were crying and anxious parents awaited their children, standing behind the huge iron gate.

My parents were devastated as was the country. I also remember seeing Jack Ruby shoot and kill Lee Harvey Oswald.

So many years ago yet not forgotten. The beginning of a series of tragedies including RFK and Martin Luther King, Jr.
