Let’s Make a Deal?

I returned a new NICE sweater and ordered the smaller size. Simple ?. I didn't want to wait for an "exchange" so I made a new order. That's how much I wanted that Blue Sweater!

The replacement was clearly pre-worn - pills all under sleeves and down the sides and some surface defects and wear. Yes I checked it all because I had a feeling. Then I got a bit upset. I called Customer Service, told her about the preworn condition, she was silent & then said to send it back. I proposed keeping it AT A DISCOUNTED price. (I'd take it to the cleaners). I thought 50% off was fair. NOPE. Not even close. Now after 2+ months I have NO NEW sweater and have to package the 2nd sweater back up & make yet another trip to the UPS store. It's a "designer" regularly on QVC.

Anyone else having issues with Size, Quality, Fit, etc with clothes and shoes? I've had to return 3 pair of "casual" shoes in 3 months - and I'm not hard to fit. I still have QVC footwear from years ago. Everything else I order is great but now I'm burned from the footwear and the "other" IDKW! "Pre Worn Clothing for New Price?"

I'm exhausted from the whole ordeal. Did I just have a run of Mercury-in-Retrograde bad luck?

My recent experience was quite different. I'd ordered jeans and received a style that was different than the one I ordered. The paperwork had the correct info but I was able to locate the item number of the jeans I'd received on the cloth tag in them.

I noticed the jeans looked quite nice and were the size I'd ordered so I tried them on to see if I'd guessed right. Perfect fit! I decided to see if I could buy them when I called CS. The item showed as no longer available on QVC. CS said the jeans were no longer available and not under a different number. She was not able to generate a way for me to pay for them or to return them... She said I could keep them for free! And she sent the pair of jeans I'd ordered out right away.

I will say that I've been a customer since before the company was named QVC and, never received a wrong item until recently. I've now received 2 wrong items in less than a month. They are clearly having problems.

Sounds fishy alright! Just remembered they sent me a duplicate order, no record of it but I just sent it back. I never saw it tracked or charged. ???? The fulfillment center is clearly not running well. But we're still paying S&H and "return mail" charges.

Nothing nefarious--just busier days as the holiday season approaches.

It is my understanding that fulfilling many orders is done somewhat automatically by machinery--perhaps a part was broken and the wrong item was loaded by mistake into the bag?

As to previously worn clothing, yes, return if you are not pleased. Then check out the outlet- or "as is"-maybe it will be there in a month or two at half-price or less.

Example: I paid $69.00 for D & C dress back in the Spring, but returned because QVC would not honor a slight price reduction. Now the dress is "as is' and costs only $19.00. I bought two! Item #A670412.

Yes, I have! I wear sketchers almost all of the time. I purchased their green faux suede booties two weeks ago. They were huge, cut to wide, and flopped off my foot. Also, I bought two pairs of jeans that were so off the mark as far as measurements go. All had to be returned. I'm careful about buying the correct size and style, but I've had my share of returns this week.

Totally forgot to add: that pilling is a sign that the fabric will continue to pill. Shaving it off only " thins the fabric. They did you a favor in sending it back....in the long run.

No they did me no favor I expected a NEW sweater - actually I'm troubled by getting clothing that's clearly pre-worn. I'm gun-shy now about ordering. I've seen preworn clothes and shoes on the website, it's a known category. To send out a worn item as NEW is wrong. TBH the agent sounded annoyed and she should have done something for me. it's happened with the big A store and with a phone call I usually get instant credit plus a $10 gift card. Or "keep it at NC". And NO S&H charge. Who needs all the extra aggravation and costs?

The only used category is on designer bags. "As Is " may be returned but most likely used in a presentation. Even with as is items I have never had an issue.

I would never expect a customer service rep to be able to bargain a lower price with a customer, same with a supervisor. They just wouldn't have that kind of decision making in a large company.

Amazon is a whole different business model and completely dependent on whether it's a 3rd party seller or Amazon itself. They also count on the sheer volume of business and not the margin on each item. I've had a few experiences with Amazon that were less than satisfactory so I will only buy directly from them now and no more 3rd parties.

Back to the drawing board. The sweater was probably made from acrylic, a cheap inferior yarn.

@CaliGold67 - I've rarely had to return any fashion or shoe items. My shoe size is an 8 and I've ordered boots, etc thru the years. All have fit well.

Coupla things:

Don't order from the Q. You keep going down the same path

Pilling occurs when the product is laundered incorrectly.

The Q rep. (whomever that was) that you spoke to probably is not permitted to "make deals".

This is a good thing: Our UPS is located 2 miles down the road in our grocery store. So easy to return.

@Group 5 minus 1 pilling occurs when acrylic fabric rubs against something (chair, item itself, pocketbook strap, etc.)

@Group 5 minus 1 I was only commenting on other ways pilling occurs. I don't know about harsh fabrics in the washer. I do not put sweaters in the dryer so no comment on that either.

I don't think I have ever had a sweater or other garment pill. Who knew?
