Need help finding crochet pattern

For years I have made crocheted baseballs for my grandchildren. They are all grown now. A friend of mine has two small children that they just lost their Dad due to an accident. I want to make them each a baseball- one in baseball colors and the other one in pink and white for the little girl.

I used to get a small booklet I believe was Crochet World or Woman's Crochet. I know I have that booklet but I have went through all my crochet patterns and can not find it.

Would anyone know the name of the booklet as I can look online for the pattern?

Such a nice gift for some kids!

One thought would be to merely make a ball (orb) and add the contrast stitching.

Have you looked around on line? For an experienced person and a simple set of instructions, that could work too.

The pattern I have is in two pieces that you whip stitch together around leaving enough to stuff full. Finish whip stitch and then add the stitches in the color you want around to look

like a baseball. They are safe to throw around the house and last a long time. The kids all love them. I have made several for small dogs and they even last a long time with them throwing them around too.

I used to have a website that would/could find any crochet/knit pattern for ya, but I cant find that url now.

In the meantime, have you tried Instagram? Or Etsy?

I'll keep looking on my puter here, but cursory look, doesnt look promising, & it was sooo long ago.

(GULP! I can feel myself getting sucked back into crocheting again. One of the many, many things I promised myself "I'd do more of when I retired, became older" But I can not! I cant! )

Online, I just saw a ?TikTok video of similar crochet pattern that reminded me of a very very elaborate crochet pattern for a bed cover, that when finished, would have had my choices of interwoven ribbons of preferred color, weaved thru the crocheted holes. And could change ribbon colors at will. I had a several block sample for eons, growing it, running back & forth to the experts at Sew/Yarn Shops, when stuck at a complicated stitch.

Some of those crocheting on TikTak are using such uber fine, minute crochet hooks, & such, its almost like they're tatting!

I did find the pattern and it was from Hooked on Crochet. Luckily I had photostated a few copies from the book. No book found in my crochet in my ottoman yet.

Thank you JoyFilledWarrior! I feel there are many helpful people on this forum that care.
I made the pieces today for the ball itself as it is in two sections. My friend's son baseball will be white with a bright blue stitching and the girls is pink with white stitching. They will be so cute. I know that they will love them. I gave the Mom a Crocheted Gingham Afghan in white and light blue and she was so thankful.

I try and teach anyone to crochet if they want to learn. I surprise them with the crochet hooks needed and the yarn and pattern. I sit and watch and help them until they are comfortable. Then I receive a beautiful picture of the things they made.

My husbands grandmother taught me at the age of 16 and I am now 75 and still love what I learned all those years ago.

I was wrong about the pattern for the crochet baseball. It was the booklet called The Workbasket. I just saw the pattern on Pinterest for the pattern I finally found of my own.
I loved getting the Workbasket. I used to save them.

I have made them since 1979 and I forgot how cute they were. A little challenging when I first started them and made them a little stuffed tighter for the kids. Now I am working on an afghan for a receptionist that takes great care of my appointments for my eyes. A little kindness from and me giving back brightens both our days.

This is the same pattern I made but my granddaughters.
