When DirecTV was in a contract dispute with ABC we lost the channel for a few weeks. They were offering a $20.00 discount which we signed up for. Did anyone else who signed up for this ever receive the discount on their monthly bill? I just received our new bill and still no discount just a $10.00 increase again in our monthly bill.

I got a $20 credit on my last bill. No increase yet but I know it's coming b/c they sent me an email, after the credit posted, saying my bill will be going up $10 a month.

It took them nearly 4 months to refund my credit balance so I won't look for the $20 credit until at least December or January.

It was back in September I think. There was a contract dispute between DirecTV and Disney. It wasn't just where I live.

yes, we actually got a $30 credit on our bill last night. My email stated $30 not $20. The only thing I can think of is that we have a sports package that was also impacted.

We didn't sign up for anything so it wasn't that. They offered it to everyone.

I did just get my $20 discount. I just have a very basic package but I qualified. In my opinion it should have been more, but something is better than nothing

We haven't had DirecTV for years now, but whenever we lost channels or the TV altogether, they always said we'd get a credit. We never did. Not once.

Very glad we're no longer with them, but good luck to everyone waiting for a refund.

And giving a refund, then putting up the monthly charge? Hmm...I wonder how they're funding those refunds?

@Squirt60- My husband signed up for a $30.00 discount for losing ABC for 2 1/2 weeks. It took 2 billing cycles but we got our $30.00 on the bill we just got. Hope you get yours soon. I would call them if your don't get it soon. Good luck.

We had Directv for like 25 years. Last year it got to expensive and we swithced to YouTube TV which we love. It takes a little time to get used to at first but it is cheaper and so much better.

I've been thinking of trying YouTube TV. Can you DVR programs? I use that all the time

We've had Directv for about 30 years. I really like it but I will lose a discount I have in December and I don't want to pay $130 a month!

@azgal - We also switched to YouTubeTV, when we dropped DirecTV and finally had decent internet, so we could do streaming.

Yes, you can DVR programs and watch them later. I do it all the time. I have all my favorites set up to record automatically. It's stored virtually in the Cloud and you get a lot of storage. We've been with them for about three years now and I've never run out of space!

The nice thing is you also get access to all of the other features of YouTube (at least we do on our Samsung SmartTV). DH is always watching things on there!

We currently pay $77/month, but I'm sure you'd get a new customer discount, probably for the first year anyway.

I switched from their satellite to their Directv STREAM. I got the middle-of-the-road package for $136/mo. There's no fees. Lots of channels that I would have to otherwise add subscriptions for. I love it b/c it's just like having that old 'cable experience' with the remote control and set top box they offer except the price isn't too high. Not the cheapest but I do get many stations that would cost extra with some other streaming services.

@azgal Yes you can store and record as many shows as you would like to store in your library. You can record 10 shows at one time. The channels don't have numbers so that took a little time to get used to but you can sign on and pick your favorite channels and put them in order so the ones you like are all at the top. You can tell it to record all figure skating or all Bear's football games. I record many of the morning shows and when I get up later now that I am retired I just bring them up and watch when I get up. You can fast forward thru commercials. I think there is a special for the first three months of $20 off per month. I really like it.

@TurnerGal - I hadn't thought of doing that with the channels (putting my favorites at the top), so I'll look into that, when I have a chance. Great idea!
