What Facebook groups do you belong to?

And have you ever joined one & then had to unjoin because it just wasn't for you?

I belong to Cricut, sewing, machine emboidery & BTS (Kpop group).

There was a BTS group I joined that was a little too....I wanted to talk about their music & shows. They talked about their other things.

I really don't understand FB or how it works.

I belong to quite a few FB groups. Groups for all my shopping channels. Beauty and hair groups. Fashion groups. Health groups. Of course I have joined many groups and ended up unjoining because those groups were not what I expected or there was too bickering. I joined that Q50 Facebook group and left that. Omg that was a hot mess 😂. I do enjoy my Facebook groups. I also belong to some closed groups for family and friends.

I belong to many of those groups but I don't go there very often.

I do like to catch up occasionally.

My Book Club group the leaders started thru FB.

I belong to a lot of groups as well, particularly motorhome groups, cat and cat rescue groups, health condition groups, nature and local interests, there are a couple QVC groups but I don't read them very often. Our family has a private group and two of the boards I'm on have private groups as well.

The part of the FB groups I do not care for is that there are no real categories or topics, so one doesn't really know what is in a post. They can be great info, especially the cooking ones!!

Personally, I find FB to be a huge time waster. Too many parents and grandparents sharing too much information about the minors in their families. Perhaps they actually believe these posts are "private"? They aren't.

I belong to a few groupa. Mostly Community News and Info type.

Our community has a couple & my high school has one.

I only have one cooking group

@Tinkrbl44 There are different privacy settings, but Groups are different than your Newsfeed. If a Group is set to Private, only people in that group will see the posts. There are even Groups that you can't even find unless you are invited to it by another member. Of course, it's always good to remember that someone can take a screenshot, but that's for anywhere on the internet.

I don't see FB as being any more of a waste of time than these boards. It's what you make of it and how much time you allow it to take up. I often find answers in my Groups, thus making it a time saver. I wouldn't find those answers posting the question on my main page since my FB Friends don't share the same interests I do, so that would be a waste of time even asking there.

Zero. I joined years ago to see pics of the granddog and later the grandson. Lucky for us we were gifted an Aura and I don't have to be on FB.

I love Facebook groups and have learned so much reading what others write and relate their experiences. My favorites are a turquoise collectors group, a Rocky Mountains trail rider's group, an American Indian antiquaties group, a Collie rescue group, a Bromeliad growers group, Arabian horse breeders and I follow a young woman who breeds champion Quarter Horses and raises miniature farm animals. She also is a cosmetic queen.

People who don't follow their interests on Facebook are missing a lot of fun and great information. Facebook is not all about posting family photos...I've never posted one.

All the schools I attended

Majority are knitting / crochet related

Religion related

Genealogy related groups (including DNA and nationality groups)

Couple of author or publisher groups

Music related groups (genre and artists)

Humor

Some favorite shops

Travel

Etc. .... a wide variety

Very true! As much as I come here daily, I definitely get more enjoyment and information from IG and FB. You're also exactly right about private groups and how they work. You can't even tag someone on a private group post unless they're in the group.
