FDA MEDWATCH: TATTOO PIGMENTS RECALL

Just as an FYI here ... the weekly FDA updates I get just posted about high concentrations of microorganisms in tattoo inks sold to all 50 states on Amazon.

No link, but here's the basics:

TOPIC: Tattoo Pigments by Sierra Stain: Recall - Because of Possible Health Risk

AUDIENCE: Consumer, Health Professional, Dermatology

ISSUE: Sierra Stain is recalling 3 water-based tattoo pigments, because they are contaminated with high concentrations of microorganisms which present a health concern to consumers. The recall was initiated after the recalling firm became aware of the results of the samples collected and analyzed by FDA, which tested positive for multiple microorganisms.

Hmm .... Good question. I suppose you can contact who did the tattoo and ask if they use Sierra Stain inks .... and go from there, possibly calling your MD for an appointment, stat.

I still have, in the back of my mind, getting a small dupe signature of my late Dad's on my inside arm/wrist. (when I find a young signature of his)
