I've only been to a few housewarming parties, with the last one being the one I threw myself when I first moved into my condo many years ago.

As a single woman in her late 20's whose starter furnishings were of the "early dead relatives" variety and college leftovers (I'm still using those Corelle dishes!), I happily accepted whatever folks were graciously willing to give me, although I made it clear when inviting people that I didn't expect gifts. I just wanted to show off my new place.

My daughter is the contractor for her brother-in-law's and sister-in-laws new build. And that just got me to wondering about a housewarming party. I haven't been invited to one in decades. Maybe everybody I know is already settled in a house. That would make sense I guess. When is the last time you've been to a housewarming party?
