It can't come soon enough for those of us in the desert Southwest. Big time heat is settling in the coming week possibly creating a dangerous situation for those who must be outside.

Love this pic of Snoopy! Well,I symphasize with those in this summer heat. Where I live it isn't hot and horrible. I hate fall so..............summer can't last long enough for me.

I'm certainly not ready for fall. Winter comes too soon after it and in New England that means work, work, work.

Wears me out . Makes me tired and I don't have time to be tired. Leaving a/c and coming out of walmart I feel like walking into a blast furnace. Car is hot, leather seats burning my butt, steering wheel is hot.

Help ! somebody help !

@SharkE - One of the reasons I never buy a car with leather seats!

A saleswoman tried to convince me to buy a car with them once; she raved on and on about it until I finally said "If YOU love the car so much, why don't YOU buy it?" End of sales pitch.

In Arizona it's 100 by 9 am and still over 100 until 9 pm. So ready for anything cooler.

Good thing about Amarillo, being semi-desert it drops like a bomb at night I've seen it go to the 60's after being 102 that day. Mornings are real cool too.

@BalletBabe. I know you have that humidity too. We've had an active monsoon season when it's been very humid too. Very unusual. My evaporative cooling system doesn't work it's best with humidity so I'm actually thankful for dry, if hot, air.

@SharkE Don't go IN Walmart! Don't come back out to that hot car. Do grocery pickups! No hot car, no hauling stuff out to the hot car through the blazing heat.

Put in your order online, cruise down to the pickup location, they come out and load the trunk and you stay cool and happy!

@Desertdi I used to think I had to shop for groceries too but I am delighted to do pickups now and plan to never be back in a grocery store.

I have had a few less than wonderful produce items--all promptly and cheerfully credited back. But it's great. Sams is even better. Everything we need, put carefully in the trunk. No checkout line. No wrestling a basket. No running into people I don't want to see.

I make my list and check supplies, am better about getting things on sale, and have a little cart to haul everything from garage to kitchen and pantry!

Fall is my favorite but I am in no hurry. Time is going too fast and I am not liking that.

I just can't believe August already. August always makes me sad, and odd I know, but I have a hard time with August. Sort of like a Monday, which is my least favorite day of the week.

Go figure.
