Olympics Opening Ceremony Today

I read rumors early this week that Celine Dion and Lady Gaga were both in Paris to perform La Vie En Rose together at the ceremony. One French newspaper has confirmed that, and that Celine will also be performing a song by herself during the ceremony.

I really hope that happens, what a dream duet. And also it would be incredible to see Celine perform for the first time since 2022 and her battle with Stiff Person's Syndrome.

Gaga is performing now. How pretty. Everyone is in black holding giant pink Pom poms. She's obviously lip syncing to a track though. Too bad. She can definitely hold her own and do it live.

I will be front and center for all events as I love the Olympics. While Lady Gaga's music is more my style...Celine is a bit too sedate for me, I will be thrilled to see them together and separate. Icons.

When I went to see Lady Gaga's jazz and piano show in Las Vegas in 2019 I looked online to see how much Celine Dion tickets were and if I could get one for the other night that I was there.

There was a ticket available way in the back for an affordable price but I didn't buy it. Still regret so much that I didn't, mad at myself.

Celine will be returning to Vegas after the Olympics. seems to have recovered from "stiff person". Personally I don't care for her as a person or a singer.

I'm sure every performer will be lip synching, considering the location is not a stadium. Even in a stadium they would probably lip synch. The Olympic committee wants perfection.

You are correct, Lady Gaga can belt it out live. An amazing classic jazz singer's voice.

I don't think that you recover from "stiff person disease" I watched a documentary earlier this month on it. "I am Celine Dion" on Amazon. Quite frankly it was hard to watch. She was doing a lot of work to try and prepare for a comeback. I hope that she can make it through whatever her song selections are.

I will be watching the Olympics tonight. I am currently recording the opening ceremonies.

You aren't the only one. I wish her well and hope that she fully recovers but I am not a fan and am not sure why something about her rubs me the wrong way. Sill, I hope she recovers and give her credit for the effort it must be taking to perform.

I'm not much of a Kelly Clarkson fan anyway, so I have no idea why she would be a commentatorm given all the talent NBC has.

I haven't read any comments before posting mine.

I thought the coverage was so horrible I turned it off. I'll watch the taped version tonight.

First, I absolutely hate the boats. I love watching the athletes march into the stadium and the crowds cheering and waving flags. Again, hate the boats.

Hated the 33 million commercials.

I watch the Olympics for the athletes and the competition. As much as I like Lady Gaga, my turning off point was her standing on the stairs behind pink feathers, singing in French. As much as I wish Celine Dion well, I don't want all the teasing for her upcoming appearance. Again, I'm watching sports. I have no idea why Kelly Clarkson, Jim Fallon and other celebs are an integral part of this massive sporting event. Give me Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gaines calling the swimming events. I'm not interested in a variety show.
