A WHITENING toothpaste that doesn't "sting?"

I tried a watermelon flavored toothpaste and liked it because it didn't have that STRONG minty taste, which bothers me cuz it's SO strong. But it doesn't claim to be a WHITENING toothpaste, so I went back to a brand that claims to whiten, but that strong mint flavor is just too much for my mouth, I guess. Anyone? TIA

@spent2much I seem to have the same issue. Mint flavors burn my tongue. I started using Boka toothpaste and it is very soothing. I have the Orange Cream and Ginger flavors. TBH, my mouth doesn't have that minty clean feeling but I can't handle the burning sensation. I purchase from Ulta or Amazon. Just realized, though, that it doesn't claim to whiten.

I use the one with "Optic" in its name, and have no challenge. (I also have a mouth full of individual implants.)

i would like to find a toothpaste that doesnt dry out my mouth. i use Pronamel whitening but its way too foamy.

Can't help you, unfortunately, but will follow. My mouth is sensitive to these whitening toothpastes and the skin peels off the inside of my mouth and makes my teeth even more sensitive. Even Sensodyne is too harsh for me. I get sensitive toothpaste from my dentist but it doesn't have that minty fresh feeling. Anxious to hear other recommendations.

My tongue and the inside of my cheeks are sensitive too. I use Sensodyne Clinical White without a problem.

My toothpaste of choice is CaliWhite.

Fluoride-free and I use the mint which is a very light mint. It also contains vitamin B12, which helps autoimmune.

I have Oral Lichen planus and cannot risk strong flavors burning my mouth.

I also have an implant and use Colgate Optic White either the paste or the blue gel, no issues. My teeth are pretty darn white at 72, ,my last crown was a shade A1, that is the whitest you can get.

Check online for abrasive listings. Many so called whitening pastes have abrasive ingredients. Not good for your enamel.

I have no problem with minty toothpastes. Listerine does burn my tongue though. However, I have a couple of very sensitive teeth and my dentists recommends I not use ANY whitening toothpaste, including the Sensodyne ones.

Supersmile is a very good toothpaste (and is sold on QVC!) that comes in many flavors.

People often use TOO MUCH paste ... all you need on your brush is about the size of a pea. That's it!

BTW .... just pick the toothpaste you like. When I'm finished brushing, I dip the brush in a little plastic cup with baking soda in it and brush, going over what I've already brushed.

Baking soda is a good whitener - or stain remover. No irritation.

Personally, I alternate and use different pastes on different days. The comments here about irritation surprised me.

Whitening toothpastes don't really whiten. All they do is remove surface stains. Yellowing tooth enamel needs some kind of bleach to remove embedded staining and any toothpaste isn't going to work for that. You need to use whitening strips or whitening pens and that way the whitening product stays on your teeth long enough to actually whiten them.

In the past when I was consistently doing oil swishing (or oil pulling) I had great results. I had different people comment that my teeth looked so white, including my dentist. Maybe I should get back to doing that again. It's healthy for my entire mouth.

I have been using Supersmile for years. Purchase on QVC. I also can't stand the flavor of mint in anything. This has worked out for me and doesn't sting.

This sounds counter-intuitive but my teeth have gotten whiter by changing to original Crest. I have a small, white filling on a tooth that had gotten stained and could never get it white using "whitiening" toothpastes, but the original Crest does the trick. Now the stain is gone and all my teeth match older crowns that were whiter.

The original Crest is gentler, less abrasive and has sodium fluoride rather than stannous fluoride. Don't know if that makes a difference, but I'm very pleased with the results.It is also milder in flavor.

Silica is the ingredient that is abrasive and removes the stains. I have found that it is hard to find any toothpaste, even the more natural ones that do not include silica.
