Is The Queen Alright?

I've in two publications today that the Queen will be passing some of her duties to her son Prince Charles. Many of them are public appearances.

I wish her good health.

It may have to do with her husband Prince Phillip who has had some health problems lately.

She's fairly old, isn't she? Maybe it's her way of retiring a bit. Now that the people like Camilla and Charles, maybe she is feeling more comfortable with putting him out there as the next King.

I think she's doing much better than most nearly 88-year-old women....poor woman probably just wants a cuppa and a toes up.

I saw one of those articles and the Queen in a pretty outfit. Boy she sure knows how to look spiffy doesn't she?

Anyway, yes, I suppose she is winding down. I will miss seeing her when she is gone (which I hope is not for a long time to come).

She's in her late 80's and deserves to turn some of the duties over to Charles. I don't know how she's managed to keep her schedule for the last 15 or more years!

I think her sense of duty and purpose is what keeps her going and contributes to her good health. While I'm not a fan of the monarchy, I admire the Queen's devotion to duty.

That's hilarious considering he's in his 60's!! She will NOT outlive him.

She is 88 and plans to give Charles most of her traveling duties. She will maintain control of things that do not require traveling. It is reported that she has finally made the decision for Charles to become king if she retires or when she dies, whichever comes first. I'm glad she didn't choose William for that job, he is young and should be able to have a life with his wife and children before becoming king.

It's not up to the queen to "choose" a successor. According to the laws of succession, Charles will be her successor.

An 88 year old, even one in great health, will tire more easily with the demands of travel and always having to be on one's toes.

Charles needs to step up to the plate and do his thing. Or pass these duties on to the next generation, if he isn't interested.
