So many days of oppressive heat and very few thunderstorms

Each of the past 3 years has been the hottest year on record, and the trend is expected to continue in successive years.

If you dont have an AC unit in your house, you'd better get one. It's not going to get any better.

Oh my goodness isn't terrible? My nickname shows where I am. Summers get hot and sticky, but I can not remember this long of a stretch of consecutive days of heat and humidity, temps in triple digits, with no end in sight.

Here in the midwest (Indiana) were finally in the 70's but it's still quite humid. The only good thing I have to say is we are getting rain today and tonight so I didn't have to water all my flowers today! Not fond of this hot and humid weather.

Would love some thunderstorms here in Arizona. It's only 113 now but no humidity. Want the rain, not the humidity.

@Meowingkitty. Have you had any monsoon storms? We, in Albuquerque, have had several good rains and the humidity has been high. Saturday it was 7%, then a cold front came through bringing wind and some rains, so today the humidity was 46%. It was only 84° yesterday.

I am in Reno, it was 102 at 4:30 this afternoon, its after now and it says it is 98. We have a man made marina here and literally people start going after 8pm.

It hit 120 in the shade here yesterday, however a couple of degrees cooler today in my neck of the desert. We at least know what to expect and are as prepared as we can be for these scorching temps. My heart goes out to all of you who are in areas where high temps are uncommon...stay hydrated and safe everyone and remember our fur babies have higher body temps, less sweat glands and tender paws so keep them safe and indoors during peak hours.

You must be in Arizona? I am in northern CA and it has been over 110 for a week, should cool own next week to the 90's at least. I could never survive in AZ!

I posted this earlier, but Maryland will have 103F on Monday and Tuesday. Here it's been very hot and humid everyday since the beginning of June. We sometimes get a break of in the 80's for one day. And then it resumes. Many days it is supposed to storm. Most of the time, it evaporates. Sometimes we get short bursts of rain and then stops. I think it will continue to be in the mid to upper 90's until September at least.

Yes, the planet is getting hotter. The controversary is between causes. Natural or man made. Not the fact that it is getting warmer.
