New change at Ebay...

I've been using Ebay for over a dozen years now. As of about 2 weeks ago I notice that there are now pop-ups that actually show how many folks have a particular item in their cart!

It used to be just how many would have the same item in their watchlist, but NOT in their cart!

I ordered 3 items from Ebay about 7-10 days ago...

1 - had 9 folks having that item in their cart

1 - had 6

1 - had 2

Lots of folks fence sitting, so I relieved them all from having to make a decision...LOL

i browsed LOTS of items for sale looking for particular ones. The funny bit was the 3 I chose ALL had others that 'almost' ordered it.

So I actually feel like I won the lottery! If they weren't actually buying I got lucky because the items were available for me to order.

It wasn't like there were 10, 100, etc of each item available...it was the only one each time.

Additionally, the price of each was exceptional and all in perfect condition - NWOT.

Interesting observation, and it makes sense to me.

Personally, I sell more on Ebay than I buy, but rarely a month goes by that I haven't bought something.

Sometime in the past year I stopped putting things I was seriously considering on my Watchlist, and just put them right in my Cart. (Then I look to see of there are any better prices for what I'm interested in.)

The reason I do that is because I can forget about something on my Watchlist. However, when I sign on, I see how many things in my cart and they're less likely to be forgotten.

Anything I'm interested in I put on my watchlist; about 50% of time seller offers me a discount within 2 hours.

I do this too, put items in my Watch List and I have been getting offers on so many things and saved lots of money. I love to make offers !!! Sometimes I dont even put it in my Watch List just look at it and I still get offers. Only negative thing with offers is that it negates the use of a rebate site.

@patbz Yes, a nice surprise. Alhough I do notice that the discount makes up for the seller initally overcharging for the S&H sometimes.

ETA: Like you, I put items I'm interested in into my watchlist.

could you elaborate, as an ebay seller I would like to know, buyers can pretty much return anything with eBay supporting the buyer

I have found e-bay to be very trustworthy and the buyers and sellers mostly honest.

I only have ever had two sellers who were not honest and e-bay went to bat for me and I got my money back.

As a seller, I had a buyer who won items and changed their mind after they won the bid. I let them out of the transaction and e-bay did not charge me. I resold the items (boat seats) the next day.

I also "watch" items and the sellers often offer me discounts.

I have no issues or complaints about e-bay.

@patbz same here. Honestly. I have found some incredible deals on the Bay. I bought two BD long cardigandusters for less than $30 and in pristine condition. I have purchased a variety of things on the Bay abd never been dusappointed. Some sellers even offer free returns abd seller pays for returns

I would start with Poshmark as the shipping is super easy then ebay where it is more involved

but yes it's a wonderful way to get rid of stuff and make some money,

I buy from Ebay often since 1999. The past couple of years it's been QVC fashion items. I have purchased over 400 items and never had a problem or been dissatisfied. I have noticed the shipping time has been especially fast in the last few months.

Today is the last day that Top Cashback has 5% back from Ebay on clothes, jewelry and shoes.

Many online third party sites do this. It's suppose to be an incentive to buy before it's gone
