at least for today. After 7y strong breeze God awful days of 90+ degrees and insane humidity it finally broke and at 4:00 this morning it was cool enough to turn off all the fans, 3 in the living room and 1 in the kitchen. DD has 2 ceiling fans and an oscillating one in her bedroom upstairs. They all have been running non stop since last Monday.

Now, of course, the heat and humidity is returning for at least Wednesday but for now it is great. It is cloudy in the 60s and there is a pretty strong breeze but I'll be darned if I am closing any windows.

When I was younger I could take my bottle of Hawaiian Tropic and sit in the sun and heat fo hours, heck, when I was 45 I went to Florida in July and sat in my friends back yard. Now, at nearly 74 I just feel like I'm a Perdue chicken and my little red thermometer poppeed up.

I'm in NE PA. Is your weather gotten any better?

I apologize for any typos, stupid cataracts.

Yes, much better here in my part of Pa. I still have the fans on, but I've turned off the air and opened windows a bit. Great breeze out there today. Too bad it won't last.

It has been brutal and I know several folks in our area are facing heat issues, some of the senior care offices put out a request for fans and A/C units if anyone has them available to loan out. Sure feels good to open the doors and windows today! Many of our homes are not equipped with central air nor do they have the needed ductwork to support it, most of the older homes have a hotwater heating system and some do not have the electrical system to support the A/C units. Folks from our church went to homes to help some members get window units installed.

I was about to ask if people in the northeast had air conditioners. I don't personally know anyone who lives there so I apologize if that's a stupid question. I'm in Texas and we definitely have ACs to deal with our brutal weather.

I'm in southern NY. State and today is WONDERFUL ! This last week was wretched and much too early for this level of misery. Yes we know about AC, however some of us like to enjoy being outdoors. At least in cold weather you can put on a coat.

Pittsburgh area here. It's absolutely beautiful here today! Turned the AC off when I got up this morning. Humidity is way down. Going to get hot again tomorrow.

This past week has been awful. I can't even imagine not having AC during the week we just had. I have a feeling that this is what we're going to have most of the summer. Off and on oppressive heat.

It is possible to have central air if you have hot water heat. We do. It's just a more complicated process to have it installed. Luckily my husband is very talented in home improvement work. He installed it in our house about 20 years ago while I was in Florida visiting a friend. Best surprise I ever had!

It's 95° right now with expected high of 101°. In the 100's until this weekend.

It was 85° when I went to bed at 1:30 this morning. Supposed to be 103° with 80% chance of rain tomorrow. We do. It's just a more complicated process to have it installed. Luckily my husband is very talented in home improvement work. He installed it in our house about 20 years ago while I was in Florida visiting a friend. Best surprise I ever had!

Perhaps in your home but not in ours! At least not without a huge investment! Our home is 4000 square feet based over 4 living levels. There is nowhere to hide the duct work. We've had it looked at a few times over the years.

I am in south central PA and it's been 84 degrees today and windy. Everytime I go out, my hair is blown all over my face.

We turn on the AC in the spring and it stays on until it's time for the heat to go on.

The AC is set at 78 degrees. My DH wants the AC on for the dogs. The breed we have suffers from heat stroke, so we have to be careful.

I just wrap up in a blanket.

Yesterday was hot. I worked for hours outside in the garden.

I ordered an auto watering system for my veggie garden and flowers. It's supposed to be delivered tonight. If it comes, I have a job to do. I want to get it done right away. It's cool tonight, so it shouldn't be too bad.
