BEST and WORST QVC Purchases.

Back in the day, I used to buy a lot from QVC. These days, I don't buy much anymore. Having said that, I recently saw a question posed on another social media site, what their Best and Worst purchases were at a particular vendor.

So, I thought this might be a good place to ask that same question.

For me, Best QVC Purchases: LUG handbags, Cook's Essential Oval Pressure Cooker (still going after all these years) Worst QVC Purchases: Any and all plants from either Roberta's or Cottage Farms. None have ever grown.

Laura Geller Balance & Brighten, Blush & Brighten; been my Holy Grail makeup items everyday for the past 20 years. Never have liked liquid foundation, never needed lots of coverage...this solved that for me, still working great for me.

Quilts from back in the day, I still have, use, love

Northern Nights, sheets, pillows, comforters

Other items too...but those are some of my best.

Worst..the first thing that comes to mind were these small, set of 6 battery operated lanterns for my deck, many moons ago...ate batteries (double A) up weekly...back they went. Honestly, I can't think of other items, though I've definitely had other returns for various reasons...but those lanterns were pure junk, made in China.

I'd already posted so many of my favorite things but the worst has been clothing I've tried-

Women with control tsv dress-like wearing a heavy bag of weights attached; and a D&C sleeveless top on drastic sale-it has a seam right down the middle and is so unflattering! Both had no shape to them. So, I learned.

Oh also years ago, 3 mercury glass flameless candles from Valerie-they just were so thin and kind of garish I decided. They just didn't fit in. Probably the only thing I've ever returned from her.

In general, I would say kitchen items have been the longest lasting items that I've bought from QVC with some holiday decorations from VPH coming in a close second.

I recently downsized and donated many items, but a few kitchen items made the cut like the Fasta Pasta cooker, a Ninja blender/food processor device, some clamps to remove hot pans from the oven or microwave, a Kitchenaid mixer and some Lock n Lock slant top caniisters that I use for flour, sugar and baking soda. Many Luminara candles also made the journey.

Most of the items I have were purchased some time ago. I still enjoy looking at the new decorative items offered, but I don't buy as much any more. I don't have the space to store items and I have fewer surfaces and walls on which to display them.

I purchased an InStyler curling iron when they first came out - was it 20 yrs ago? Maybe longer. I still use that thing! Definitely got my money's worth! I got an early model air fryer when it was a TSV, not sure of the brand but it says "Power Air Fryer XL Pro" on the front. I still use it several times a week. Good investment. Luminara candles when they first came out were cool, and made good, impressive gifts. They're everywhere now, and for a lot less. Lots of Susan Graver and WWC that I still wear on the regular.

The worst, I would have to say I have tried to forget. What comes to mind most are holiday and VPH decor.

Worst: The ink blotter that was supposed to block information that could be used for identity theft. Didn't work on most forms, but I hear it has been improved.

Thankful I was introduced to Philosophy and Dr. Denese skin care products. Never would have tried them were it not for QVC. Also love the First Aid cream I put on my feet every night. Love my Susan Graver and Denim and Co clothes. Worst - VPH - everything I tried was/is junky. Also, the few plants I got all died. And the Garden hose with a multi function nozzle was also cr@p.

Best: Laurie Felt: jeans, jean jackets - just the best!!!

Side Stitch: tops

Aimee K: handbags

IHKWIP: handbags

CCB: most of her clothing, not all- some really wrinkled

Isaac M: his pima cotton is top notch

Joan R.: some of her pieces are not matronly - they are well made

PLW: on trend, but not trendy. great color palette, no wild patterns. will/should stand the test of time (not forever but a good 5-7 years, i hope). well made

Beekman 1802: face & body products. not the shampoo/conditioner.

Worst: Barefoot dreams - the shedding and the sparkles that embed in your clothes (you can only see in the sunlight!!) the material, yuck. returned most of my pieces

Cottage Farms - they died and i have a green thumb.

side note: have never bought SG, KG, RG & LOGO, have no intention of doing so. they are not for me!

Best: a pop up screen house that was great on my patio, kept the bugs and sun off my Granddaughter when she was a baby. Wish I could find another like it.

A denim shirt from D&co. Loved it wore it so much.

Worst: Graver dressy capris, entire back seam ripped out second time worn. They were not tight.

Graver jacket that looked like a cheap rag.

Best / most useful .... a hand food chopper that I bought probably close to 20 years ago. I've used it almost everyday since! It looks similar to this pic I found online. (Hated the electric one - mess to use and mess to clean)

Worst .... a Tony Brattin "jazzy short cut wig" .... believe me - I know "jazzy" and this was not jazzy. Junky is more like it. Enough room for two heads in one wig.
