Revenge/Betrayal on NBC Sunday nights

After last night's episode of Revenge, it looks as though it has lost its way completely now. I had always looked forward to that show, but see nowhere it can go anymore except into utter nonsense.

I had very little hope for Betrayal at first, but it gets better with every episode.

Ironic, isn't it?

I started thinking . . . what are they going to do now, allow Daniel to become an abusive husband? . . . and Emily is going to take that? For what? What is her point anymore? Then the scenes from the next show in March where she says she's going to shoot them all? Ay yi yi !!

I don't watch the show, but I do know it was kind of on the cancellation bubble last year. My wife and daughter watch it all the time, and they tell me the writing is getting kind of weird, if not off the tracks completely.

I'm getting tired of both shows. In Betrayal, Sara is still unsure of her feelings toward Jack and it's getting tiresome especially after her husband has shown so much love plus after their dialogue about him running for office with her by his side. That doe eyed dumb look of hers when she runs into Jack gets old.

I didn't care for Betrayal at all when it began but I got caught up in it. According to reports, last night may be the last episode which would be fine because they tied everything up....except who was the man she gave the big smile to at the end. According to what I read there is a chance it will come back in the spring but the money is on "no". If it does come back...I'm betting that big smile was for Jack. She NEVER looked and Drew that way.

As for Revenge, yeah, it jumped the shark a long time ago. I didn't even watch last night. I let dd tell me about it. Last week was an hour I'll never get back

I haven't seen Revenge yet but I've thought the show lost its way and was becoming ridiculous last year. I keep watching because I started and just can't give up. LOL

I'm disappointed in Betrayal. I think most of the acting in this show is poor, especially from Sara and she has no connection so to speak with either Jack or her husband. Everything is just blah because I think she's just blah.

When the show ended, I said to my DH that I didn't even care which guy was walking in because I'm finding the show lame.

ETA: I agree with Found. She's back at home with Drew, they slept together, she acted as if she wanted to get back together (before she was shot), she told him she'd be at his side for his election and then she kept harping on Jack asking why he didn't come to the hospital. Why did it matter to her? Did she think she could continue on with Jack and still be by Drew's side?

I didn't want to watch Betrayal at first, because that word is so painful, but had some time off of school/work over the frigid holidays and got caught up. I do hope the show conveys the fact that walking into divided heart situations is painful for all concerned. Nobody gets our best. People we love only get pieces of us.

Revenge? I think Amanda's desire for revenge is flowing over to other characters. Perhaps the plan is to walk through not only Amanda's revenge, but a long-lost son and a daughter's revenge. Hope this show isn't losing steam. It reminds me of that phrase -- what tangled webs we weave...

Also hope my fave show, NCIS, can recover from Ziva's departure.

I can't watch NCIS anymore without Ziva. It's just not the same dynamic. The cute young blonde does nothing for the show . . . she certainly can't replace a strong character such as Ziva. Perhaps Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly can hold it up, but not for me. If she left because of money issues, they should be on their hands and knees begging to get her back. They were wise not to kill her off.

I posted in the TV Forum, I really think at the end of Betrayal Sara was meeting up with a NEW man. Since Jack, she is looking for a little excitement in her life, I think she met someone new and is about to embark in a new affair.

I would not mind if Betrayal was given another season, maybe with different characters. Each season could be with a different story line and characters with the main thread being betrayal, in one form or another. I know this show was not that popular but for some reason, I watched it from the beginning and stuck with it.

ETA: I am from Chicago so many of the street scenes were very familiar to me. I know that not everything was necessarily filmed here but I would swear that the church they showed for the funeral sequence was the church my family had gone to for generations. I am going to have to find out for sure.

Also wanted to say that I turned on Revenge as a lead-in to Betrayal and did not like it at all. I had watched part of it for the first season but it really seemed fractured and just plain odd.

I thought that I read that Betrayal was a limited run series. I can't see that they'd bring it back.
