It seems like every time I tune into qvc, there’s a new model on.

Where do they come from? I know all about remodel Joy starting a business with models.

However these new models ummm..seem untrained. It’s as if a QVC rep sees someone walking down the street and says “Uou want to model clothes?”

I used to enjoy the old QVC shows. You know, the ones with Leah on Saturday morning. It had the same models on the show.

Anyway, why are these new people modeling clothes different so often.

I know it’s primarily about money ((everything always goes back to money); but some professionalism and continuity would be nice.

@Annabellethecat66 I totally agree with you. I get the impression QVC wants the clothes to be modeled on ladies who represent what " real" people look like. That is one way to think about it, but I would rather see the clothes on models who look really good in the outfits. Many times I see a model in something I was considering and she looks terrible in the clothing so I pass on it. I thought the point in selling is to make the product look it's best.
there is one model who models Denim and Co. and the clothes look terrible on her. I do not understand QVC's thinking process when it comes to the models.

I totally agree. I want to be inspired by the clothing - not shocked as to why they are wearing it. I also am not a fan of the new D Co rep. She keeps saying she is a large - she's much larger than some of the XL and 1X models. We don't need another one in a fantasy sizing giving presentations on fit.

Professionalism and continuity are rare in many areas today, not just on QVC.

They seem to not be using profesional models these days, for the most part. I never thought it would make a difference to me, but it does.

It's not just QVC. it's in commercials and all over print advertising. Certain companies want to be representative of ' real' women. A lot of women cannot relate to a 5' 10" pretty 25 year old.

What a model looks like doesn't bother me in the least.

It as been the same models for a long time then recently we had a lot of new ones. I figure there were models that retired, took different modeling job, vacation, childbirth, health reasons, and personal reasons. Cotia is now Mrs. New Jersey and I am sure she has responsibilities with that title.

The only problem I have with Joys models is that the ones that are recorded dance and prance very fast in a circle. Really aggravates me when I want to see an item I want to buy. I did complain about it quite a while back and they seemed to slow down some, but lately they have become Taz at even a faster twirl.

IMO the models change based on availability and number of fashion shows; like a fashion weekend == you see a big number of models simply to staff the programming on all their channels. Again, like real estate, anything will sell if the price is right. To me, it all comes down to price not the models or hosts.

Models are just working for a living. I assume they may independent contractors or employees of an agency. Maybe QVC is unwilling to pay a good rate or is not known as a good place to work? That always leads to turnover.

I don’t watch a lot of QVC, only products of interest. Kim’s shows seem to have the same models. I’ve seen Blair a lot, Katia, Brenda, Deanna, Jackie & Jaime. I did see one older petite lady that’s new and a differently abled lady on Kim’s show; haven’t seen Alex in a while. But everyone takes time off or a lot of obligations this time of year.

There is a model, an old timer who seems to come and go, that has appeared the past few days who they need to dump. She clearly would rather be anywhere other than modeling at QVC. During a long presentation she never cracked a smile even once and even grimaced several times while modeling jewelry in a close up.

Surely they could use people who at least appear pleasant.

I haven't an issue with the models, but if the item doesn't flatter the model showing it, choose another model that it does.

It seems to me that I keep seeing the same models over and over again. They are either not very good, or it is just that the clothes don't look good on them. The clothes look better on the true XXXXXXXXXS hosts than they do on the models they have these days.

I think most of the models try to display the clothes and respond when the Rep or Designer asks abt them showing the waist line on pants. Did notice , that one model who is rarely seen who's been with QVC since around the time DB arrived , does not seem too energetic despite DB clamoring over her .

Really, don't care for that funny foot work modeling or them in odd positions in the videos or framed shots .

Just dress the models in appropriate sized clothing and make the bathing suit skirts longer in the back

In regards to the models - I suppose that they are considered the representation of the consumers.

However, I find the whole bunch unappealing as I have been coditioned to believe that a model is tall slender(thin) and graceful

I may be sounding too Miranda Priestly but that is what works for me.

I'd rather see any model rather than them showing screen shots from the website. At least you can see the true color, drape, etc. of the item on a real person. Hate that screen shot stuff to show all the other patterns/colors as well. Is it too much for the hosts to have all the colors available to show live? Just saying...
