A different wedding reception idea!

I am invited to a wedding and reception this summer. The bride and groom last name is Jordan. So they have asked for people to wear their favorite pair of Jordans or sneaker/tennis shoes to the reception. The bride said that way every one can dance and have a good time with no hurting feet! I talked to her mom (her mom has mobility issues) and she is thrilled. My shoes are ready. No hurting feet in heels for me! Pretty pumps at the wedding and comfy at the reception! I thought this was creative!

Great idea! I've seen many wedding receptions in recent years where the entire bridal party change into sneakers so they can be comfortable and dance the night away. A lot of them have custom wedding sneakers made. Fun for the wedding guests who want to do it as well!

I'd be out of luck. Sneakers kill my feet and I don't own any.

I have seen the groomsman wear sneakers with their tux at weddings and the "kids" are wearing sneakers to the prom with their formal attire.

Cute idea, though.

I actually think that people could suffer through shoes for a few hours couldn't they? Is it too much to ask?

Great idea, and some creative people can 'bling' them up!

Hopefully, Gone are the days of suffering feet.

Kitten heels were my most comfortable choice at weddings/receptions.

@Sooner. Why should anyone suffer through a reception, which is nothing but a celebratory party? People should have a good time in comfort, especially if dancing.

While sneakers are comfortable, I don’t think they are the easiest to dance in. Too much traction.

When my DD married, I bought a pair of pretty and comfy flats to wear to the reception. They were dressy looking and matched my dress. Of course, I was the mother of the bride.

@PamftomCT that’s usually what I do also. I love to dance and if the dj is good I will be out of my seat. I must say it will be fun to whip out my Jordans and put them on. Now if can just remember all the steps to the latest dance!
The steps change often! Lol

If I had had my way, I would have worn sneakers to our daughters wedding. She wouldn't have cared but there would have been too many snide remarks from the older family members.

This shows such a kind considerate and caring bride too who is not just about Instagram worthy high heeled looks. That's the real" suffering", dealing with people like that. Bridezillas or groomzillas.

Her wedding, her choice. I bet it will add to the fun.

That's a cool idea but s lot of men are doing the sneakers with suits thing anyway. I don't think I'd get dressed up and wear sneakers but bunny would love it.

Some brides wear sneakers, no one sees your shoes when you are wearing a long dress. I think people are realizing comfort is important to have a good time. I have also seen where the bride will provide flip flops at the reception. Most women take their shoes off anyway at receptions. I think its a thoughtful idea, although Jordons are expensive so I am glad she gave people choices. Most men own one pair of Jordons, I know the teenage boys do.

Last wedding I went to they gave out socks with the bride and grooms name on it.
