California Innovations vs Improvements

Since today is an all food day on QVC I won't be watching at all but I did go over to look at HSN since it was free shipping day.

I saw their grocery bags made by "Improvements" and was wondering if anyone here has ever purchased them? I have several from "California Innovaions" and love them but saw some on HSN with different patterns/colors for an OK price but based on those reviews don't know if they're worth it.

Any thoughts?

All I've seen on HSN today is food. It must not be all food on QVC because they had Denim & Co. Pat had a couple hours of non-food items. Sundays from late morning into the afternoon are always food shows so no surprisse there.

Ya, I guess you're right but since even ITKWD is a food show today too I'm passing, which is why I went over to HSN and clicked on kitchen and these totes were in that list. I really liked the gray grouping but the reviews were just so so. I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had ever purchased the HSN totes.

Tke a look on amazon at the brands they have, i got some a few yrs. ago and they have been very good,you want zippers to keep food cold.

The California Innovations bags I have are insulated. If you are looking for insulated the bags from Improvements on HSN are not insulated.

Thanks. That answers one question. Are they made of the same material or cheaper, if you know. :-) I do have some I got from Amazon but the ones I chose seemed to be more papery than plasticy.

A few years ago I changed how I grocery shop. Sometimes I'm running errands and want to pick up a few things, and the grocery store isn't always my last stop on my planned route.

I'm in SoCal, and I really hate putting cold groceries in a hot car. So I leave a cooler in my trunk and take an ice pack for it when I leave the house. That way, the cold stuff can go in there and food temps aren't an issue.

Another thing I've done is shop at locations that have covered parking. What a huge difference THAT made.

We have a set of California Innovations bags that have served us well. I'm seriously thinking about ordering the latest small cooler collaboration between David, Life Is Good, and California Innovations.

I have about 4 sets of California Innovations bags. I use them for a variety of things. There were some pretty negative reviews on Improvements bags. (I always check the reviews sorting by lowest to highest ratings.)

How many pounds can these bags hold?

I'm asking because I tried one of these and the strap came off one side and I dropped the bag. I wonder if because the bigger bags would encourage you to stuff them to capacity?

Personally, I buy the bags at the grocers and use them several times.

What do you consider the "safe" weight limit for these bags?

Please note there are different types of California Innovation bags sold on QVC. The one i have were sold in groups of 5 and were on sale for $24.95. Thus was a few years ago. There are different configurations at times too. The ones ihave are not isulated but are lined. Have ridged bottoms and very sturdy fabric handles. Support 45lbs each but i would never have that much in one.

Compare features and prices and weight tolerances.

@Melzie- While ITKWD had a lot of food items, it was not all food. There were other kitchen items as well as the Airvana cordless fan and the Ninja Creamie.

I realize that now. I was looking at another show date and got them confused. As I look back at ITKWD I didn't miss much anyway. Thanks for everyone who brought this to my attention and I stand corrected. My bad!
